I don't know how to do it in windows. But see how it performs without any addons.
I have been having issues with FF lately. I can't get local storage to work correctly with my native cookie management (It would probably work if I installed a cookie addon). Also I have noticed some slowdown.

Select css style "tomorrow" for a dark theme. Requires no plug in typy just select it from view page styles in fire fox. Now my 27 inch monitor won't blind me at night. Note this won't work on chrome as Google has decided not to bother spring supporting alternate page styles in their infinite wisdom.

Because I use catalog.neet.tv which syncs between browsers. What I do is filter a buttload of generals and other crap threads, pin the threads I want to follow, then hide every other thread. When I refresh any new threads are shown and I can pin or hide them. And that syncs nicely between my home comp, phone, and work comp

i see all these threads about firefox eating alot of ram, but ive never had the problem. ive got 8 gigs of ram, and my icecat (dunno if that has something to do with it, its icecat not firefox) only ever consumes 800 megs. and its not even always that high. i have around 30 addons and 70 - 100 tabs always open.

I dunno about 43, but they did something to rendering in 42. profiles with 1000s of tabs now takes 3-4 seconds before the window paints (on linux; safe-mode or not; both catalyst and radeon/mesa)
wasn't fixed when I tried the 45 nightlies. plus that garbage was now using gtk3..
one profile is still on ESR38, the rest have been migrated to palemoon. firefox is dead to me
