What is the /g/ approved way of learning making electronic music? I tried reaper before but it took me hours to make a simple tune. But I was just messing around in the program. So how do I get into it seriously? YouTube video tutorials by Indians? Some great ebookebook? Should I also have deep knowledge in music theory and shit? Many niggers make music so it can't be that hard, right?

I'm not sure about you, but I learned through getting the basics of flstudio down and then watching random tutorials to get certain sounds down to mess with things for my own tracks.
Also, frankjavcee is a fun way to see how certain things are down and how you can use it for real shit instead of actual shit.

The big three DAWs in Lonix are LMMS, Ardour and Rosegarde. With LMMS being somewhat similar to FL and Ardour also going into that direction.
Rosegarden is better for making more "traditional" music.

well, i would really appreciate your help with the following:
i want to build a small home studio. a nice pc, some smaller monitor speakers and a smaller mixer/midi controller is basically all i need.
in my teens i had access to a professional recording studio with reason, fl, a small box that made violin noises and a really nice roland 808 copy.
so basically i want to copy that setup, but im not sure if its appropriate for the purpose... in fact, all i want is to make some pop music just for the sake of it, just to entertain myself with my guitar and maybe play at the local bar every other weekend.
i really dont want to pay a fortune for reason, so is there a good alternative daw that has a nice intuitive gui and can be used to tweak my guitar performance, i really like to tinker with a lot of features and get unexpected results (thats why i really never used fl studio, it seemed like too easy and "closed" (not for experiments), or maybe it isnt? and i should just give it a second chance). i'm not really experienced, but like to satisfy my curiosity.
