I'm so hype I can't even. Preordered mine for the free VR. I played with an edge today in a Rogers store and augh its so fine. Coming from an S6, it feels definitely like an upgrade. I'm happy I didn't do the S7. It's nice but strangely diminutive.
Ordered my regular S7 through T-Mobile last night, hoping I get it in the next few days. The free VR was too good of a bonus to pass up; I usually wait for phones to go used and depreciate in value a bit before I buy, but here we are. So I guess this is a bit of a first for me, too; getting in on the 'ground floor' like this.
Got the black one, Edge was 2big4me and I also don't like the... edge. Very hype for this phone; the one I used at Best Buy was very snappy and responsive, and the screen was gorgeous.
Got a silver titanium S7 Edge with the free Gear VR promo.

I guess that's true, I can get a new one every two years, but I honestly dont have a reason to. It literally does all I need, which is read files, browse the web, message and email. I could do it on a Windows phone, but I prefer a better ecosystem.

Elaborate, I don't share the hate with the majority on /g/, I see no problems with Apple aside from price is a bit high. Last Note I had was Note 3, which they swapped for my note 2. Loved the Note 2, did not care for the note 3 at all.

Pretty much exactly what I meant. "Not iPhone" is a good or bad thing depending on your point of view. For me it's a pro, because I'm not really a fan of iOS, but I'm willing to live with the fact that people like what I don't like.

forgot to mention: I'm personally upgrading from my piece of shit Moto G for Band 12, VoLTE, and WiFi calling (useful in an emergency). It's an actual upgrade in features for me, not just "old samsung plus one"

The ability to insert the pen backwards is so nice. Didnt fit in the older generations.
When you are using it a lot, but dont want to put the pen down and you dont want to trip the sensor again by fully seating it, you just put it in backwards.
It holds it without making the phone closing out all your Spen stuff.

I needed a new phone. Bought a Moto X Pure instead of waiting a week to get the s7 edge. Also cause it was nearly 50% cheaper. I'll let you know if it's a disappointment come March 6th or 7th, when it comes.

I'm stuck between the LG G5 and the Nexus 6P. The 6P is unlocked and running stock android, but the G5 is twice as fast in benchmarks, as well as having an SD card slot and those cool modules.

No lie, just preordered black s7 edge from ATT. Kinda excited. Mainly just for lots of photos/comic viewing and I'm on track to exceed 64gb so no note 5.
I can tell the screen is curved and it isn't distracting or image distorting, but it is noticeable. But compared to s7... the edge picture is still larger and ever so slightly brighter. Not entirely sure if I'm getting any benefit from doing the quad hd screen though...
Any s6 edge owners want to share their thoughts? Did you adjust to the curve screen?
