Fedora will soon become a container OS:
http://lwn.net/Articles/675846/

So oepnSUSE wins by default.

What's anons opinion about play-Linux? After 2 days I'm still to dump to fix lol. It always get stuck at 44% and I need to reboot because everything freezes. Tried every suggested fix. Will this be no problem with this distro?
>>
>>53237174
holy shit mang, thanks, I better start testing Suse.
>>
>>53237084
The name of Fedora bothers my autism too much that I refuse to try it.

Why would anyone use opensuse?

>>53237343
It's actually a good distro. I use it on my laptop.

Most major linux distributions have container variants. It doesn't impact the regular distros besides maybe fewer heads to work on the full version. Containers are only just getting popular so it will take time to amp up the security models for any distro, openSUSE included. Also:

> "We want to be moving continuously, we want to be DevOps."

I hate this buzzword. The concept is good but no one understands what it means in practice. Shit, I'd be surprised if any enterprise-level company could fit that model if it's not designed that way from the start. From what I've seen only Netflix comes close to that level of large-scale automated infrastructure, and even then it's relatively small for the number of people it serves.

Fedora. OpenSuSE jumped the shark eons ago.

Debian forever.

openSUSE isn't bad, but I'm still sour over the one time an update broke my OS and it wouldn't boot anymore. I'm pretty sure it was X related.

Fedora, I used to use it back when it was called Fedora Core. Back then it was pretty good compared to what was available at the time They made you jump through a few hoops to install "non-free" packages. I wanted to try it again recently, but the installer was broken.
>>
>>53237084
Neither as neither is Ubuntu or an Ubuntu variant.
>>
>>53237449
but is it good or what mate?

Fedora without Red Hat engineers doesn't leave much. Fedora Project leader is a salaried position at Red Hat after all.

but yes, unlikely that they outright kill the desktop version, it will just become shit like every DE but GNOME did after Fedora.Next:

what a pathetic egocentric bitch, glad he step out my fav distro. Fedora 23 KDE is easily the best way to use Fedora. I don't care about Fedora being so focused with GNOME, I just don't use GNOME so fuck that argument. And being the little kid of Red Hat isn't bad at all, this shit is secure, stable, opensource and up to date, thanks to redhat a good company.
>>
>>53237990
Fedora never was secure:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Forbidden_items?rd=ForbiddenItems#Cryptography

that gives you things like delaying state-of-the art crypto like elliptic curves for 7 years:

Fuck, you didn't even read a single word of what you're telling me to read. There's nothing wrong in any of those links.

are you really trusting some US company after Snowden? some NSL later and you get your own prepared repo courtesy of the NSA.

Welcome to 10 years ago kiddo.
>>
>>53238163
retard pls.
if you think having no EC in 2013 counts as 'nothing wrong', you shouldn't talk about security at all.
>>
>>53237084
really like tumbleweed for that rolling release model.

fedora has a good company behind it, and i like gnome.

all in all, both are great.

>>53238283
add a 'then' before state-of-the-art if your reading comprehension is that bad.

I've used both extensively and can be justified in comparing Fedora to a TVR and openSUSE to a Mini Cooper.

Is it secure, being a fork of RHEL?
