Why should I care?

>>53204141
Looks like it has some really niche application, and by the labels, it seems that it was either reprogramable, or was compatible with several types of programs. This one seems to have been used specifically for spreadsheets.

Is it a Bloomberg terminal?

I give up, google doesn't turn up anything. In fact those keycaps look like they can be user customized.

Here's a much easier one.

Oldschool teletype terminal, was probably connected to a mainframe that ran unix once upon a time.

I wanna say its for some sort of CNC machine. But it's too clean.

It's a teletype. One of my dad's coworkers died sitting at one during his shift. He had read all the gages and was typing the data into the teletype when he had a massive heart attack.

The next guy on shift found him that way.

I want to agree with this anon, but I'm going to say that it was meant possibly for javelin, because it looks to professional and expensive for something in a home office.

The 1987 date would also go along with when javelin was being produced.

It's not just a teletype, it's /the/ teletype. The ASR-33 was the punishment of choice for many a minicomputer user in the '60s and '70s
>>
>>53204953
Neat. Would make sense, though 1-2-3 was pretty ubiquitous in enterprise environments too, of course. I could imagine a hipster accountant or two snagging one of those for themselves, though at the same time, did the AT/XT keyboard bus support custom keys like that?

I do not usually enjoy getting v&. Just asking for the search term that is obviously encoded in the URL. And fuck you, with the time it took me to write this post, I could have just looked it up in a table.
