Depends entirely on what you do. I only really browse websites with unintrusive ads (see: 4chan and a few others), and most of the apps I use are either paid or first party ones so I never see ads there.

I chose the Z3C because it was the only phone at the size I wanted. It performs just as good as anybody could possibly want. Add to that you can get them for like $250 right now and there's literally nothing that can compete with it. My only complaint is that I've broken the screen twice now because I'm abusive with my devices and it's a pain in the ass to repair, but that can be said for every new android phone these days.
