Windows, that's what we real professionals use. Gaming and industry program support as well. Linux loosers wish they were relevant.

All pretty much the same thing. But you're right that whatever it is, it isn't unix.

More probably a unix derivative on the mainframe, the DOS systems looked like they where running CP/M.

No, CP/M was basically the ancestor of DOS, for 8-bit 8080 and Z-80 based microcomputers. Its filesystem didn't even have sub-directories, so all files were stored in the root of A: or B: floppy drives (which couldn't hold much data anyway). There was a CP/M "USER" command for people that bought hard disk (very expensive, and really just for businesses in those days), which acted as a work-around and limited your visibility to files for the given user number. But it was just a hack really, and all files were still stored in the root of C: drive.
Anyway, almost everyone used just floppy disks those days. It was nice and simple. You could have a boot disk with CP/M and WordStar (or other program, like SuperCalc, MBASIC, etc.) in A: drive, and then save your data files on B: drive. You could have as many OS/boot disks as needed, and rebooting only took a few seconds.
Later they made other versions of CP/M for 16-bit CPUs, but I didn't use those ones. The 8-bit machines were super-simple and great for learning BASIC and assembly language on.

OpenVMS. The command line is superior to UNIX in every way, its memory management is better, and using it is much more pleasant.

>>
>>53107968
Well there's a difference between UNIX and UNIX-like. UNIX itself is trademarked and for an OS to be a UNIX OS, it has to follow the UNIX specification. That's why Solaris, AIX, BSD etc. are all UNIX OSes and Linux is a Unix-like OS.
>>
>>53098667
No. They just don't know any better and can't install Gentoo.
As with all kinds of retards, they are the majority of users and they pretend they like what they are because everybody else is doing it.

>>53096322
I'd like to see a free version of TempleOS developed by an elite of devoted christfag coders into something usable. It has some cool features.
