Americans also pay more for prescription drugs than any other country, often 3-4 TIMES more than the next most expensive country.

How can one nation be so completely cucked?

>>
>>53091260
Nah I'm paying 35 for unlimited talk text and 2.5gb of 4g lte data under virgin mobile. Since my phones screen shattered recently Ive been looking at services like ting(I've seen it promo'd on YT a lot over the years). If I switch over, I get to keep my number and shave off 11 bucks on my bill. Gonna switch at the end of the month, then buy a <200 phone. Currently looking into blu phones(blu life one x) or the honor 5x. Would be awesome hearing suggestions on cheap but good spec wise phones as well as from people who have used ting. Pretty much service wise it won't be much different at all from virgin I believe.

>healtcare costs are hyperinflated because of retarded insurance policies that punish bare minimums and encourage doctors to test for every disease under the sun

who knew

wireless gouging is because of effective monopolies, same thing with internet in most states. You have one option so pay 50 dollars a month for 1mbps or no internet
>>
>>53091153
People who are never home have unlimited plans so it's quite reasonable for them. I have a $30 boost plan at 2.5 GB (becomes 5Gb after 1 year) so I'm quite happy cheap plans exist.

I also work for Koodo though, so its an employee plan

all you have to do is work at a cell phone company. no more outrageous cell phone bill.

but then you'll be broke all the time.
>>
>>53091833
FUCKING THIS.
ISPs divide up towns like slices of cake so they can have one town all to themselves. 0 competition = they can do whatever they want
>free market
It's an organized monopoly. it's fucking sick. Wireless company's are bad but not as bad as fuckers like time warner or Comcast. All ATT or Verizon do is build/maintain towers and sell air time to smaller companies while they limit data to their customers. They limit the coverage of smaller companies enough so outside of cities they have shit coverage.

Mfw it would be much worse if T-Mobile didn't make them compete with their "un Carrier" promotion. Don't even get me started on me ISP limiting data usage.

>Americans spend $100+ on 2 lines.
Meaning Americans pay $50 a person for Unlimited Talk, Text, and 4G Data from a GSM Carrier with Band-2 LTE support, unlimited in-air texting on gogo enabled flights, unlimited data and text in 120 different countries, tethering, and the ability to place calls over WiFi so phone calls can still be made underground or in buildings without femtocells.

6GBs of data in bong-land with unlimited text/calling is 21 bong-dollars a month plus some unknown figure set by the bond-land government for using a phone in bong-land. Messaging and calls outside of or to places not in bong-land cost mucho-bong-dollars. Bong-land phones incur ridiculous pricing because chavs nick mobiles in bong-land all the bong-o'clock. Doesn't even include tethering or phone for cost of plan.

Why are bong-land providers so shady? Can't publish full prices on a page despite your country being a fraction of the size of some of the US' states. And they can't even agree to let you use your phone in more places than just bong-land. Even the most archaic US providers agree that Mexico and Canada are alright to make calls from/to, even though you might be DAYS away from either, driving.

Poland here.
I spend about 6.5$ per month and nearly everything of it is mobile internet. One minute costs here 0.07$, and 0.02$ for sms.

>>53091245
For 7.3$ per month I could get free unlimited calls to everyone + 5GB per month with throttling after the limit.

Does anyone have any explanation why is USA so fucked? I mean, what is stopping people from making their own ISP/mobile that will win on the market?

In my country, we spend $2-4 on mobile, $10-15 on home internet and $2 on cable TV. Providers compete with each other on having you as their client. They offer free devices for internet or cable tv.
>>
>>53096623

gee, who would have thought that you have to spend money in order to earn money? the richer the country is, the more expensive everything is. 50$ phone subscription if your wage is 4k$ is normal, 5$ phone subscription if your wage is 200$ is not

You already know the answer, anon. The US's health care system is so fucked that you can write a long book about it. There are more forces at play than can be counted. The insurance system is the primary reason. Next is lobbyists. Next is the market itself.

If you get sick in America, it's financial suicide. One cancer treatment costs tens of thousands of dollars. People get several treatments per course of chemo. Some people get several courses of treatment. That's millions of dollars.

free call/text in all EU (not europe) from France

I used to pay 25€ for 100 units calls/text and 250MB 3G

Now I pay 10€ (Prepaid) for no calls/text (I make like 3 per month so who cares) and 500MB of LTE

I could probably get 1gig of LTE if I chose o2 or Vodafone but their coverage fucking sucks, always getting drops at workplace

>>
>>53096894
bingo! that's the dreadfulness of a free market - it adjusts itself. When a free market produces the first generation of self-made-men, shit hits the fan
>>
>>53096565
Lol no. In Germany for 20GB LTE you have to pay over 100€, I'm not even sure if there exists a carrier offering 50GB

Those low prices are usually from Eastern Europe countries where the average wage is like 100€ per month so it's a lot if put into perspective
>>
>>53096894
If they truly had free market, someone would just make their own ISP and mobile, offer lower price than others, make lots of money because everyone would switch to him, so they would have enough money to expand to other states. If others wanted to keep up they would have to lower prices as well.
That's how free market works.
>>
UK, Three. Unlimited 4G, 200 mins, more texts than I use, I think 200. £15/mo. Can't complain.
>>
18€ for 25Gb of 4g data and unlimited messages
>>
>>53096921
true. I live in the netherlands and I laugh at germans getting cucked by their prices. but then again, I would earn approx. 20-30% more in Germany, than I do here, and would pay less tax so that evens it out.
>>
>>53096936
What are you trying to tell me? I know how the free market works

But it's quite the investment and risk to set up a carrier from scratch in the third largest country in the world that's why only so few have yet done it.

But that's not a reason to sacrifice freedom and give communication to the hands of the government.
>>
>>53091153
>family package

Kek I know my dad would never pay for shit like that.
>>
>>53091153
19€ for 20GB data here, resets every 3 months, at 4G speed, but for home internet I'd rather use the dish, it's realitevely cheap too (70€ a month for 100GB at 20 Mbit/s speed). If there's a complaint I've about yuropoor internet is the cable internet, we're in $current_year and I still can't get more than 5 Mbit/s in this town of 60k people, only in some provinces people can get from 20 Mbit/s plans up to 150 Mbit/s for cheap.
>>
>>53096921
499 sek ~€50 is unlimited 4g in Sweden. But we also have one of the healthiest fiber networks in the world which most isps have access to as by law they cannot be locked out of a net, they can only compete on price/offerings not coverage.

Most of the fiber was built in the 70s when Ericsson was fed by the government. There was only one isp - office of telecommunications back then, after the monopoly was lifted it was agreed that the millions of miles of fiber would be a shared platform for all isps to compete on as it has already been payed by the people.

I pay $112/month with taxes and fees for two lines with unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE, no throttling, plus insurance and 9GB of tethering per line (not shared), through metroPCS. Never had an issue with them.

Just upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy Avant to the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL a couple of months back, and between the phone and the fee for upgrading it cost me $90. It's even cheaper now because it's on sale for half of what I paid for mine.

>>
Friendly reminder that a 320 tb of data costs the average isp $55 per month. So please, no HD downloads.
>>
>>53091153

Americans don't like paying for anything, they also consider themselves not rich but definitely not poor and only poor people have prepaid cell service.

Doesn't matter prepaid cell service is at the most $55 with 10GB of data or more depending on the provider, and can be as low as $30 a month with less data, they specially don't like due dates and it's too much a hassle to pay before the due date, and only poor people have prepaid.
