Is this /g/ approved or is it botnet?
>>
It's neither of those, it's autism. Just turn on your light retard.
>>
>>53077691
I know how to turn down brightness anon but I read many people say it's quite helpful for your eyes and just wanted to give it a shot
>>
>>53077691
That's not the point of flux anyways.

You adjust the screen color temperature to the color temperature of your indoor lighting to avoid eye fatigue. You shouldn't be using your computer in the dark anyways.

I assume you have used it so does it really help with eye fatigue?
>>
It's a botnet and it makes your eyes bleed.

If you can't afford decent LED lights, all hope is lost for you anyway.
>>
>>53077683
I use it at work, since I stare at a monitor for periods of 3-4 hours at a time, it helps quite a bit. I manually set it to about 3500k
>>
>>53077683
my eyes are so used to eye burning LCDs and everything burning CRTs so i find it pointless
>>
>>53077691
>I am incapable of keeping my mouth shut even if I don't know what we're talking about in this thread.

>>53077683
Well, I'd be curious to see if any studies have been conducted on the subject. I'm not convinced. I've used this on my PC for some time and have a comparable app on my phone, but I've yet to feel any significant difference from before I started using it.
>>
Does it have any significant effect on battery life?
>>
Are you fucking retarded ?
>>
>>53077730
If you use your computer in the dark, only the darkroom setting is going to help.

A friend of mine says it helps him sleep better though. I installed it on his PC without telling what is was supposed to do to minimize the effect of placebo and now he's using it all the time.

I'm not using it anymore though. I need a new test run.
>>
>>53077781
Or you could literally use it to remove as much blue light melting your corneas from your screen as possible.
>>
Couldn't do without it, since I've started using it I sleep better
>>
>>53078212
You know what helps me sleep better? Turning my fucking displays off.
>>
I use it on my cellphone and laptop, basically anything i may have to use in the middle of the night. Its a lot easier on the eyes as opposed to turning on a phone at 2 am even at min brightness is a pain
>>
It's so you can go to sleep fags it's not carrot tech that suddenly improve your eyes. Also they make filters that block blue light from screens built into devices' glass digitizers.
>>
It doesn't help me with eye-fatigue, but the whole limit-your-bluelight-exposure-so-you-can-sleep interests me. Not sure if it's a valid premise, but hey.

Sort of unrelated, but those smartphone alarms that suggest they'll wake you up in an appropriate sleep phase so you'll wake feeling refreshed are complete garbage and the entire premise is flawed. A phone cannot accurately detect which sleep phase you're in.
>>
Not sure if it works, but still use it... Hardly notice it
>>
>install on pc and phone
>cool, dude

one week later
>fuck this pink bullshit where the fuck is the disable button

In theory it's a good idea, but in practice I just end up hitting "disable for an hour" everytime I'm on the computer before sunrise
>>
>>53077683
Placebo.

Literally red.dit: the program. Enjoy your piss filter faggots.

Real patricians use Redshift.

I find it pretty nice. Unfortunately I have to disable it when I want to play osu! (supposedly it lags when f.lux runs in background) and I do feel a difference when the colour temperature changes. I also disable it when I have something I really need to finish that night because it does make you a little sleepy (or actually it just doesn't keep you wide awake at night).

A confirmed fact is that people react faster to blue light than any other. The explanation for it is that blue light has simply higher energy and stimulates your eye or something. A friend of mine that studies psychology told me about it so I'm not so sure about the details, however I think that considering above fact you could guess that blue light will also keep you "more awake" (couldn't find the correct phrase, but I think it's understandable) than reddish light.

this

It sets your monitor to an orange color to get rid of the blue light in the evening, wich would signal to our body that it's still daytime and we should be wide awake..thus it helps with sleep

this

My eyes used to hurt and feel fucked up at the end of the day.
I manually set it to be pretty red during the day and even redder after sunset. It's helped quite a bit. If I need to remind myself how well it works I disable it for a second and I'm blinded by blue light.

Redshift is good too for linux. You need to use config files to customize it but there are more options than flux
>>
>>53077683
It just turns white into yellow, i don't understand it's use
>>
>Just turn on your light retard.
Even if the screen is at 0% brightness and the lights are turned on it's still A LOT more comfortable without as much blue light as you would normally have.

I don't see the point. I don't have eye strain so all it does is turn my screen piss yellow. Maybe you guys should consider turning down the brightness on your display :^)

I use redshift to match my monitor's color temperature to that of my room.

Seems to make it easier on my eyes.

Sorry I didn't mean 0%, I mean the lowest setting with your monitor (0)

I see what you mean. I still tried using it but I find it annoying, everything looks too red. I like the blue light.

It helped me feel more rested after long hour sessions by the pc, and to have a lot less of that glassy eyes thing going on. Cant live without it, not even kidding, going back to blue looks like a nightmare.
>>
Ever since I started using the "anti blue" setting on MSI True Color, I've noticed that I no longer go to bed with sun burnt feeling eyes or a headache.

So I'm guessing this software does the same thing, and is just as legit, op.
