Just installed kali.
Pros and cons?
>>
>>53027577
>Pros
You can hack the gibson
>Cons
You installed Kali
>>
Are you a hacker? If so then congratulations. If not then you're pants on head retarded.
>>
>>53027604
Fair enough xD It is parted with mint :)
>>
>he fell for the kali meme
>>
>>53027635
Looks like I did a good job then :)
>>
>pros
Everyone knows you're a retard.
>cons
You're a retard.
>>
>>53027577
If you're not doing any security or penetration related shit, you're retarded.
>>
>>53027646
I used Parrot-sec before :)
>>
>>53027690
I work as IT at a high school but I'm interested in hacking :)

Are you OP?

>installing Kali
Nigga what? Why would you install Kali and not run it onna liveUSB
>>
>>53028176
B-but that's not what that hacker from that movie was doing! X(
>>
>>53027577
Pros:
>dude i'm a hacker lmao
Cons:
>you're edgy as fuck
>there is literally no point in installing it and using it as your main os
>it comes with gnome

Basically if you use Kali as your main OS you're fucking stupid and probably underage
>>
>>53028615
>gnome
This is what I don't understand about Kali. If you want an efficient hacking machine, why would you prefer the most resource hungry DE?
>>
>>53028649
Yeah it's really stupid. They should've gone for something like Xfce or LXDE but I guess this attracts even more kids that want to be hackers

Pros:
>you don't have to manually install all the 1337 h4xx0r tools
Cons:
>kali is very vulnerable to a lot of attacks due to how it's customized
>you seem like a retard on the internet
>>
>>53029173
>vulnerable to attack
who is going to be attacking someone's computer
>>
>>53029311
well if he's got a trump sticker on it some nigger might if he gets enough retweets
>>
>>53027646
Kali is great if you actually do security work.
>>
>>53027577
>Pros
You can hide from surveillance if you want to

>Cons
You'll forever be on a government watchlist for downloading it.
>>
>>53029488
any examples?
>>
>>53029816
Are you OP? Install a different distro and stop trying to be a hacker, it's edgy as fuck and nobody will ever give a shit about the things you "hack"

>>
>>53027577
I mean kali linux is really good for
security tests or hacking, but if
you've installed for sth other than
that than you've failed miserably
>>
op is baiting
>>
What do you suggest for basic hacking if Kali is so shit?
>>
>>53029816
Penetrating testing would be a valid example of using kali properly
>>
>>53034329
Kali itself isn't the problem, it's retards installing it as a primary OS.
>>
>>53034378
Exactly, kids who want to be l33t hax0rs that use kali are the problem. If you have a job with computer security or penetrating testing, using kali is perfectly fine.

If you installed it, you can determine the pros and cons on your own, bro. WTF?
>>
>>53034575
If you've ever as much as googled "tor", you're most likely on a watchlist.

You're not

I've heard that the setup that makes Kali so valuable for pen testing also makes it quite vulnerable, and such you're not really supposed to install and use it as an everyday os. I don't know if that true, I've played with Kali on a live USB and its useful for playing with WiFi, but I never actually used it as an everyday..
>>
>>53027577
installed Kali? b8 m8
>>
>installing an OS meant for use on a liveUSB
>>
Just get a decent distro and install the tools...
>>
Uninstall
>>
>>53035528
It runs on root by default sooo..
>>
>>53027577
>Pros
-If you desire to try out Kali, you don't need to install it now

>Cons
-if you decide you don't want it, you must remove it
>>
>>53035528
It was never designed to be an everyday driver, even the creators outright state you should use it as a VM or liveusb.
>>
>>53027577
>Pros
You can now be a l33t h@x0r and brag it to your friends

>Cons
Realizing that half of their shit doesnt work because its outdated and other half requires "special" hardware to work. Literally Jew:The Operating System

Pros:

Cons:
You installed debian

God lets hope so.
>>
Pros: You can steal your neighbor's wifi with it.

Cons: That's pretty much it. Backtrack was more stable.
>>
>>53028708
They already have a distro which runs Xfce. I run that one due to the new kali looking like windows.

Not necessarily. Offsec made it so you could build your own images if you want with any DE you want.

git gud. Shit's a giggle once it's working properly

Anyone know how to configure docker to use the host's network? The documentation is a mess.
>>
>>53041211
everyone can run "apt-get install mitmf" in Kali, but on every other OS its a nightmare.
>>
>Trying to install Kali on a 64GB flash drive

I fucking hate having a room temperature IQ.

-Good for portable liveusb
>Cons
-It's based on Debian... kill me now

Literally you should just fully install a distro to a usb/hdd and load all of the tools you actually use onto it
>>
>>53041381
What should it rather be than Debian?
>>
>>53041403
Whatever your most comfortable with or have used the most, most people starting out enjoy Ubuntu, I personally love Arch, and every autistic person on /g/ loves gentoo
