So which distro do you recommend?

I tried gentoo but wtf, my fans became out of control and got messy screen.
In ubuntu, sometime my trackpad didn't work, I needed to reboot 3 or 4 times.

I tried to install archlinux with instructions from this wallpapers (picture related).
But it didn't work at all.
>>
>>52943031
I'm not him, but on the two laptops I've owned I've always had problems with the fans.

Currently I have a Lenovo y50-70, and with Ubuntu installed the fans just spin like it's about to take off. Manjaro doesn't do that and it seems to be able to actually control the fans well.
>>
If it was a rolling release distro and if the developers were serious, I'd be using it as my main OS. Until then, Antergos it is.

which one would that be?
RHEL is pretty unusable without community-supported EPEL, which is worse supported than Fedora.
Ubuntu is pretty unusable without community-supported universe repo, which for the most part is really not supported at all and just siphoned Debian unstable packages.

Has anyone been able to get the latest AMD Crimson Drivers to work on Arch/Manjaro?

I can't seem to install them no matter what I do. I've tried uninstalling the current ones but it still tells me that they are installed when I try to install the new ones. I tried searching my problem and others reported downgrading the kernel and then installing works, but as soon as you upgrade it breaks them.
>>
>>52947965
I'm just saying, it could be detected then i got it set up with networkmanager, but on the new install, it couldn't be detected after doing all the troubleshooting i could, so networkmanager then became useless, along with the arch install.

>networkmanager works best for my card, and i couldn't get it to work otherwise on arch
>with networkmanager set up properly it won't connect on a new arch install

This is exactly why people look down on manjaro users. If it worked in manjaro and it didn't with arch then it means you didn't have it set up properly because with almost identical packages it worked with one and not the other, so the configs were different. There is no magic involved, you just didn't do what you needed to do. When you start making statements about how you need networkmanager for your wifi to be recognized and such things you start to lose credibility because to experienced ears these kind of statements make no sense whatsoever. The difference isn't that arch doesn't work and manjaro does, it's that manjaro has a ready made config and arch doesn't. When you say you did "all the troubleshooting" I have to doubt what you say because "arch based" involves the same packages, often bit for bit.

The whole point of Manjaro is that it should work even when you don't know what you're doing (which goes against the base ArchLinux principles, but I digress).

It is a reliable measure. What isn't reliable is your understanding of the concept, or the conclusion you draw from the results. I use 'results' loosely here as it's obvious that you did not reach the score through proper methodology, but rather you just made a hasty, and arbitrary judgment based on what you believe to be true--you don't like x, therefore anyone who does is of lower intelligence. It's more of an indication of your own mental state and cognitive function than his.

The worst thing about Majaro imo is the fact that it lets you easily install new kernels and switch between them. What kind of shit is that? If anyone can do it, then they won't think I'm clever, or be impressed by me anymore. It's bad enough that Linux has gotten to the point where almost anyone can install and use it, but now they're fucking with making advanced shit easy too. That's communism pure and simple.
