I think I was finally converted when Windows had an unfixable issue (fairly common but I wasn't in the mood to reinstall that day) and I started spending more time on my GNU/Linux partition. Wanted something besides Linux Mint so I found CrunchBang. Later Ubuntu Minimal, and then regular old Debian. Used that for a few years. These days I've got Arch on everything. No regrets.

Based on this (https://kororaproject.org/about/whats-inside), I think it's legit. I've never used it, though, and don't really plan on it. It seems like the Linux Mint of Fedora (because Linux Mint is basically Ubuntu with all the codecs and stuff installed by default). Give it a shot.

I basically just stopped using Windows because I was (and still am) too lazy and impatient to restart my computer, go through Windows' long boot process, and get through its slow startup just to use a couple of programs specific to it.
I had access to everything I needed here, so the dual boot was (and still is) just a safety precaution.

Tried Mint for like the fifth time recently. Got it installed on a dodgy as fuck hard drive. It was up and running and everything, but when I was on Steam, I realised that for some reason the Steam Chat boxes don't show up on the taskbar, so if they're minimised, you can't get them back.
I downloaded Ubuntu and I'm going to give that a shot on a better quality HDD. I sort of/kind of want to get out of Windows, but it's hard because that's all I've ever used and, spyware aside, it does literally everything I want it to with no hassle. If I want to game in Linux (pls no hate), should I use WINE or something like VirtualBox?

So I tried installing Steam for Debian following the instructions on https://wiki.debian.org/Steam and on #4 (installing 32-bit OpenGL libraries) my x230 gave me the ol' " :( error..." and nothing would start.
I ended up reinstalling the whole OS cause I couldn't figure how to fix it and it was unusable. Now I'm not so sure I should try installing again cause I've riced and everythings running smooth.
Anyone know how I mightve fucked up and if its worth risking trying to install Steam again?

Well I finally figured out how to cross compile properly,mips-linux-gnu-gcc -EB -march=24kc -static helloworld.c -o helloworldbecause this gives me a fatal error saying the kernel's too old instead of random errors, so now it's just a matter of either updating the kernel or finding a Linux 2.6 MIPS toolchain. The toolchain in AMD64 Debian requires Linux 3.2 or higher, I'm going to see if it's any different in the MIPS32 repository
