8.1 was alright still lagless but dropped the integrated messaging app
I've never seen a resuming screen and my 928s battery seemed to last daysss even when I binge played asphalt 8 on max settings.
The only app I used that the phone didn't have was Snapchat but there were cliants for it

That is total bullshit. I have my lumia 820 for 3 years now and it never quit IE on me. I cannot speak for shitty programmed third party apps but all I use works fine.

I had a friend of mine come to me and ask if he could forward on a 13 picture MMS on to me so I could then send it to his insurance broker.
I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't type a number in when I went to forward it (support online was rubbish) and another five minutes trying to see if there was any settings I could apply to make it work.
In the end I gave up and got the original sender to forward them on straight to my Zenfone which I then e-mailed to the broker without a hitch.
I then found out after another few minutes that I would have needed to save and/or email/sms the pictures one by one to myself...I couldn't do the whole message.
It's simple functionality like this and the way it does it so backwards is why I'll never even consider a Windows phone. Microsoft should just make their mobile department commit sudoku and be done with it

I got on the WP train with WP8, running on a Lumia 520. Which I still have.
Weak as shit hardware, but a quality built device.
Anyways, literally everything the Currynigger King produced that was shit about the OS was dismissed by 'oh, well WP7 was a proof of concept and WP8 is more of a BETA' and 'surely W10 will be awesome'

In general no, but I like mine and when I get a new phone it will not be botnet 10 so that kinda disqualifies them.
Never used one, but interestingly have 2 co-workers who used to have 'em: both hated it very quickly. Dumped it in short order and got a Samsung Note or iPhone.
I didn't ask for details as I saw a dark look come over their faces when they told me. EVERY Windows phone owner I have ever met usually rid themselves of the device within 6 months.

The 640 is probably the best backup phone I've used and for the price, I don't understand why more people don't use one.

I had the 640 and used it as my DD for a couple months. Went back to Android pretty quickly after realizing how shitty it was, Google's botnet is just so much more useful. I can actually use my phone for navigation and shit like that, whereas Bing Maps was awful.

I like the OS, yes.
Few years ago I would also like WP devices, because microsoft was aiming low-end and the hardware was better and delivered a overall better experience than 512MB/1GB RAM androids for way less money. Now you have chinkphones runing android with a pretty good hardware and a solid experience with their 2GB RAM and hardware. Now WP devices are lacking hardware (until surface phones or new lumias arive). For me, until they present a new smartphone with similar hardware as Redmi3 for a similar price I wouldn't buy a new Windows Phone.
I just want camera, whatsapp/some other msg/voip and a browser. I don't need or want games or social apps.

HERE maps was removed from the store and uninstallable when I had my 640. I don't know if it is back on the store, but HERE simply doesn't have transit information for my city. Bing Maps has transit information, but it is wrong and leads you on wild goose chases.
I eventually stopped going to new places when I had the 640 as my DD because I could never get proper directions. Thankfully Google Maps has no such problems.
