ceramique 2. doesn't necessarily require a burn-in, but I do it anyway. I've been using it for years now, for as long as the price for a 30 gram tube has been $6-8, depending on where you look.

I have an application of AS5 still going strong in this build here after 3 years of service. but those are de-lidded with AS5 on both sides of the cap.

I might try AS5 later. I'm also pleased with results from Zalman ZM-STG2 syringes, despite the amount per dollar.

right, and I could definitely see that happening with rigid tubes (which would probably best fit your build's style), but flexible tubes may be able to take a bit more abuse. The rig I keep in my dorm uses flexible tubes and I haven't had issues during the countless trips between my house and this place.

That's a lot better, but there's still room for improvement. You could rotate the exhaust fan to run the wire along it instead of having it in a wad behind the CPU cooler, and the audio cable could come out of the PSU cut-out instead of the grommet in front of the PSU, but overall it's a lot better.

Fair, I could use it. When I get more hard drives I will probably move it.

Does not affect the GPU at all and the only solution to that purely aesthetic "issue" is wasting money on an ugly bracket.

It might not affect the card but im pretty sure it will affect the PCIE slot over time, just like mine i have to put a support under it so it can push all the pins properly and run at x16

Nope. Broadwells are not so good for overclocking because that fuck-huge iGPU puts out much of the heat. If you can disable the iGPU and overclock it, you're still limited in how far you can push the core multipliers. The highest OC I've seen on a Broadwell is 4.7GHz. If there are higher, it's probably because they had to resort to BCLK tweaking (a shitfest on Z97 boards).

You do realize you shouldn't be relying on your case to dissipate heat, right?
You're supposed to use fans to move the warm air out and away from your system.
>>
>>52678887
In addition to that, some paints do dissipated heat well and increase surface area. Lian Li blows, for real, yo.
>>
>>52679385
>Lian li blows
>fan filters
>brushed aluminum exterior

>>
>>52680494
They all look like the 650D without the finesse, especially on the inside of the case. If one of my customers wanted that mature look, I'd build in a Silverstone case. Honestly, a lot of the newer mainstream case manufacturers are making sleek designs, for cheap. Lian Li is 'mature' looking at best. It harkens back to old designs with nicer materials but a worse experience than other brands. Aluminum is just expensive. Steel is better in every way for the user, including price.
>>
>>52683177
dont forget that steel is thinner because it is stronger. it is lighter too because it is way thinner! that means more case volume and less wasted desk space, yo.

>17.70" x 8.30" x 17.30"
Lian Li A04B (mine)
>18.11" x 7.40" x 15.20"
Wider, taller, and nearly the same length using this steel example.
>>
>>52683282
That's a disingenuous comparison considering the differing capabilities of each product. >>52683177 the 650D looks Lian li, not the other way around.
>>
>>52683311
All case comparisons are half way "disingenuous" to others from the start with the simple fact that half of ones decision is based on subjective aesthetics.
If we are talking features, that's one thing. I will be the first one to admit that (this) Lian Li case(s) do(es) lack features. This doesn't make it a bad experience. Especially if I'm visually pleased by the end of my build.
Now, I can see, if you are building rigs for clients, and not yourself, how function might supersede aesthetics. This is not the 'case' for me.

Hey guys. So, finally getting some pieces in. Planned the following for parts.

>NCase M1, arrived
>ASRock X99e-ITX/ac, arrived
>Intel i7-6950X, awaiting release
>2x G. Skill 8GB DDR3 2,400MHz, arrived
>512 GB Samsung 950 NVMe SSD, debating if I want it or not
>480 GB Intel 730 Series SSD, awaiting return from RMA
>2x 3TB Western Digital Caviar Black HDD's, arrived
>Blu-Ray slot loading Bullshit drive, not yet ordered
>EVGA GTX 980, buying a friend's for $300
>SilverStone SX-500-LG, arrived
>Noctua NH-D9DX i4, not yet purchased
>2x Noctua 120mm fans, and 1x 92mm, all arrived

So just waiting on a few things. I may also purchase those DEMCiflex filters. Also might purchase something like the NZXT Hue+, to rice out my case can grills with some back lighting.

It's a waste to have an X99 ITX, because you're literally paying 20% more for a board that has less than half of the X99's chipset features disabled.

At least with the Z170/97s, you only lose about 40% of the chipset's native features by moving to an ITX build. H110/81 and B150/85 builds are perfect for ITX because you don't really lose all that much in terms of features (H110/81 only has two DIMM slot support to start with)
>>

I can do RAID.
I have plenty of bandwidth for everything else, such my mini-PCI, or M.2 slots. One GPU is fine for my needs, it's the processing power I wanted. I might have gone for 32GB of RAM, but 16 should still be enough.

Still a work in progress, had to delay modding the case due to family visiting.

To do.
>make a hdd and ssd bracket, there is already one ssd behind the mobo tray but i don't know if i can fit another
>paint internals black
>buy smaller modular psu
>apply sound dampening foam.
>make covers for open expansion slots
>make another suitable air intake in either the front or the bottom of the case
>modify psu cable so that it can be mounted as a female plug on the chassis, allowing me to plug another cable into that to go to the wall

I'd also like to add another 970 mostly for aesthetics, but i can't afford it at the moment.
Will be nice when this is a solid chunk of hardware.
>>
>>52687789
As some one whose Sleeved before, combinations can look good. But it becomes much more expensive.
>Pic related, old build.

>>52687952
Pretty neat. Maybe look into powder coating the internals, instead of painting. SilverStone makes some good SFX power supplies. Make sure you have good ventilation, foam kind of acts like an insulator.
>>
>>
>>52688085
>Maybe look into powder coating the internals
Do you have to go to a shop for that?
Might check out prices

>sfx psu
luckily I'm able to fit just about any psu in this case, atm there is a 900watt longer-than-usual psu in there. hopefully with a normal length ~550 watt modular psu it will only slightly poke out of the 5.25inch bays.

Temps are fine at the moment though, cpu idles at ~35c and gpu remains quiet under load.
I set up a fan curve for the cpu so those fans don't even turn on unless the cpu gets over 70, and it hasn't happened yet.

I'm just trying to figure out the perfect position for the hdd, I think I'm going to have to mount it to the floor of the case.. but I'm also toying with the idea of mounting it where the front fan is, and putting a fan on the bottom of the case at the front. since that front fan gets fuck all air.

else i might mount the hdd upside down underneath the 5.25" bays.

Changing cpu cooler to 212 EVO this weekend. The way the fans mount to this cooler, it makes the fans almost impossible to plug in, the fans rattle OH MY FUCK DO THEY RATTLE against the heatsink, and the cooler is so large, I cant release the pcie lock to take out the gpu without using a screwdriver to push on it. I risk stabbing the motherboard that way.

Thankfully my overclock on my i5 isnt insane. 4.4ghz at 1.2v. 212 EVO should be more than enough.

Having An Hard Time To Stable that 4.7ghz tho

I guess you we're lucky on Cpu Lottery , i need at least 1.35 for 4.5ghz while yours seem to be enough for 4.8ghz
>>
>>52702608
yeah I really did get lucky. about 1.25V is all I needed to get 4.5ghz. I'm hoping once I got custom loop this summer I can hold 5GHz! temperature is holding me back. 1.4v SHOOOULD be enough for 5ghz.

you'll find that putting your hyper 212's fan on the other side in pull will give you much better results in the orientation it's in.
>>
>>52705407
There's an exhaust fan above it, and I don't want to have it fight that.

1. That's why you use it to pull air up through the heatsink, not push it down.
2. It won't be fighting the other fan. I don't know why people seem to have the impression that air is like syrup. Neither fan would have issues moving air at that distance.
3. Ignore him anyways, moving the fan would be unnoticeable.

which fans are on your cpu heatsink
