Because I'd rather support free software than the alternative. It doesn't always have to be all or nothing. I have Trisquel on my laptop, but the laptop isn't on free hardware or libreboot either.

for android? Well, many ebook readers support the format. FBReader is the reader I tend to use, and it says it is open source, so there's that.
Perfect Viewer is not open source, but the PDF plugin for it supposedly is. I say supposedly because the google code archive is giving me an error message when I try to view it.
