Idk, the first time I had to update it, I had a lot of trouble with write permissions in the command window.
First I bothered to check the faq about it, then after some googling I eventually found out that I needed to do the -U command while in the youtube-dl directory, even though I can call the program from any directory in the command window.
I am still not sure why it wasn't working, or why doing it that specific way worked, so I'm unsure whether to blame the program, or the Windows command window, but I feel like this could've been the type of thing the program could handle itself.
