Hey /g/ I need some help with an issue i've been having for a while now. My video cards will randomly stop working, but they're still registered at the device manager and start up screen so it's not my pcie. This has happened with my 6800, 9800, 650, and 570.
I've tried wiping the drivers and reinstalling them, no dice. I've tried flashing my bios, nada. I've tried different drivers from the past to the newest. Tried formatting, updating windows, nothing works.
I'm on my mobo's on board gpu right now, and sometimes after installing drivers on a card I'll have it plugged in and everything but it will still start off on my on board gpu. I also tried disabling the on board gpu in device manager but nothing, I'd appreciate some input.

The only thing it could really be is a bad mobo or bad memory. Try running with different memory sticks and run a memtest. How old is the mobo? Does it have solid capicators or the ones that can bubble/burst?

what motoherboard is it?

Ded psu

The capacitors are all in good shape, the motherboard is maybe 6-7 years old now. I could try running with different memory though I haven't thought of that.

It's the Intel DG41RQ board

That was my first guess as well, but I just got a new 725w and nothing still

Could be a faulty PCI-E slot. If every vid card you put in fails, it could be that.

That's what i've been leaning towards as well but it still seems to register them all in the start up screen and they're still listed in device manager. I can still install drivers with them and everything, the cards also show video before I install the drivers, it's just once I install them my screen will go black

after the start up screen it goes black*

Test the memory first. Faulty memory causes the absolute strangest problems. What kind of memory do you have? It's not Crucial by any chance is it?
>>
>>52513252
I'll try that, it's been such a long time I've forgotten the brand lol. It's pretty cheap though so you might be onto something, it's 2, 2gb sticks

>not crucial by chance

Is there an issue with crucial? I just RMA'd my video card because my PC would no longer boot when it was plugged in. Last time I did a windows memory diagnostic it said I was all good.
