If you want a laptop, buy a fucking laptop, if you want a tablet, buy a fucking tablet.
The thing is you can pick up a cheap tablet for like £100 these days, or even less. There's no point getting some rubbish 2-in-1 12" tablet crap to try and do real work on, when you could spend your money on a proper full size laptop that actually gives you the room to get proper shit done, and still get a tablet for the occasions you might need that (and really, what are the purposes of a tablet besides occasional browsing when you're sat on the sofa / taking a shit?)

Neither, both have high resolution displays which is pointless on a laptop as it typically leads to worse GPU performance and battery life than a lower resolution display.
I'd get the XPS 15 with 1080p display instead and doesn't have a touch screen that you probably won't use anyways.
And if anyone recommends a thinkpad, laugh at their faces.
