That is elementary os, yes.

It's for poor wannabe-macfags, by poor wannabe-macfags.
>>
Good for fags that want to move to Linux and still keep a pretty decent UI experience?
>>

It died when it took forever to release their ISIS version.

I tried it once. It looks like a cheap knockoff of Mac OS X and feels slower than Ubuntu Unity.

It's what my mom runs on her laptop. It's OK.

Dragging and dropping things make the pointer sprite go wild. You need to lock the computer and unlock it for it to come back to a usable state.

No setting to disable sleeping when the lid is closed.

Included "exclusive" programs are nothing fancy.

NO FUCKING MINIMIZE BUTTON. You can work around that by clicking the program's icon in the dock, but if you have more than one instance of said program then it will just cycle through the open windows.

At least the default wallpaper is nice. I only use it on my laptop now because I really don't want to go through reconfiguring everything again.

I switched from Mint to eOS on my school laptop and I love it. Great workflow and has all of the features I need without spending hours and hours tweaking like I had to do when testing out other distros.

>>52505113
Only issue I've had from here is the lite bloatware it shipped with and the iTunes updater clone that tries to push Firefox language pack updates to me every week or two.

If you're coming from Windows, you're gonna laugh at what you considered decent UI experience.
And no, Elementary OS is shit.

Pantheon is just a GNOME 3 rip off. Just install your favourite OS with GNOME 3 and enable the Dynamic top bar, TopIcons, and Dash to dock extensions. The eOS devs are merely designers, that's why the OS is pure eye candy, while the rest is shit and unstable.
>>
>>52505021
Elementary OS's desktop environment is called pantheon and it is built from scratch for elementary os only. Educate yourself child

It made me switch from Windows to Linux after that Windows 10 update shit started.

It looks pretty decent and worked mostly fine, but ships with very limited options for changing the look and feel, so I switched to Ubuntu MATE 15.10 later on.

What I do really like is the window management features of Mutter they use. Like workspace switching with Super+ Arrow keys, Super+S/A to show open windows alongside one another and I really liked the Spotlight-like app search with Super+Space. Plus it natively supports natural scrolling. All of that combined made it really comfy to use on my laptop with limited screen estate. In my MATE iinstall I managed to recreate all the functionality and more, but it did require some additional setting up using compiz. So it's not a bad distro for those switching from Windows or OSX.
>>
>>52504847
It sucks ass balls
>>
Its good. I used it for 2 months last year. But, for me, it was a bit too unstable yet. Gonna wait for the next release to try it again, it seems it will ship with its own app center instead of USC. UI-wise, eOS is by far the best Linux experience I had.

desu the only thing I really miss about switching from eOS to Ubuntu 15.10 is that there is no version of Maya that works outside of Pantheon. It's the comfiest calendar programme I've ever used. Quick, easy, no bullshit.
