Hey fellow /g/eeks, so i have a small problem: I've been trying to install lubuntu via usb for my old computer. It always goes to (already installed) gnu grup 1.9.8 menu instead of the start up/installation menu of lubuntu. How can i install the lubuntu to d: drive?
The bios is acer athilon 64x 4000+
Before the bootloader even comes up, spam f12 or delete or whatever the fuck opens the boot devices list on your bios. then select your usb

I did that several times. It always goes to gnu grup menu, i pressed del and f12 bunch of times, then selected the usb boot device

Then the usb doesn't work, use another method to install Lubuntu installer on the USB.

Because it jumps straight to GRUB it seems your drive isn't working.
If you can use your current (or another) linux drive, use dd to make a new one.
in case you don't know:
lsblk
to see your drives, find your USB.
To make the USB, use:dd bs=4M if=lubuntu.iso of=/dev/sdX && sync

Holy shit thanks senpai <3

Good luck, remember to change the paths and that dd doesn't return a message, while it progresses it's just a blank line in your terminal until it's done.

Ok thx
