Region lock is bullshit.

What's the easiest way to get a region-free blu ray player in Europe? It needs to support 3D.

If there's some movie I'd just like to check out, then I pirate it. But if I really like that movie, I'd like to get it in physical format.

I meant for playing it on my TV. Is there really no way?

Import the Blu-ray Disc players from the different regions.

Most people don't have internet connections capable of sustaining 50Mbit.

I'm torrenting stuff from a 8 Mbit/s connection just fine, tbqh.
>>
>>52455044
But you have to download it first. You can't watch a BR quality stream on-demand.

There's no such thing, a BD is 40GB and to stream a 24 minutes video without lagging you need a 200 Mbit/s connection.

Did you actually believe that CR and Netflix stream at BD quality? Topkek.

What is buffering?

A single layer bluray disc is 25gb. Unless you're handling dual layer bluray discs - which I highly doubt - then at least specify what type you're handling.

Get any sata blueray drive and then download makemkv and handbreak, bruh.

I ripped a japanese BD a few months ago and it was over 40GB (48GB iirc), multiple M2TS files at 1080i resolution and the duration was 24 minutes total all segments.

Streaming in BD quality doesn't exists anyway, everything is encoded in lossy compression when we talk about streaming.
>>
>>52455368
Why the fuck is there not. A blu ray is ancient tech based upon codecs that are now a decade old, seriously mpeg 2 and then even the newer avc have been long surpassed. 4k streaming is a viable option, youtube and netflix just use low bit rate. Perfect hd streams are entirely possible. My isp is selling me 120mb down for 20 euro month. For 60 euro I can have 360mb. Optical is deprecated in first world countries
>>
>>52456265
Bd is so large because of ancient codecs. That's the only reason, you can easily stream high quality video if you've got decent bandwidth and up to date rips.

>Is there really no way?
not if you aren't willing to spend 200EUR+

>ancient codecs
it was a remastered series, encoded in 8-bit H.264 (they probably bloated it a bit in the process).
