Anyone have experience disassembling a D-Link DIR868L Router? I can't seem to figure out if I'm supposed be able to take the top cover off or how to even take it off.
>>
If you can't even figure out opening up a plastic container what the fuck do you expect to do when you get in there?
>>

Because sometimes it's not as simple as unscrewing all the screws, there's barely, if any service documentation I can find on this router. You'd know if you owned this model

Hey man, I just thought I'd let you know that there's this really awesome website where you can enter a subject, phrase, even a very specific question like how to disassemble a D-Link DIR868L Router! It's free too! It's got some ads here and there as it is run by an advertising company, but the ads aren't too over-bearing like many websites have. Heck, their unofficial motto is "don't be evil" so you know they're cool.

Anyway, if you are interested in a site that can help you with simple things like this, here's the address: http://www.google.com/

Just don't tell them I sent you! XP

Did you do a search yourself? Because I did and found almost nothing of what I was looking for, smartass.
>>
>>52445486
Literally first link on Google explains how its held together.

If you're talking about this video

Then no, that isn't even close to what I'm looking for, that model's top portion doesn't even look the same, I already took the bottom screws off and I'm just trying to figure out how the rest goes. The only other model that is closest is the DIR865L and I can't even find anything on that one either.
>>

No, the wiki link that mentions there's also 3 more screws on the bottom, under the rubber feet.
>>
>>52445635
I already took those off, I in fact always check for screws under rubber feet of anything I dissasemble
>>
>>52445635
Oh you got the bottom ones, then check the top under the sticker ring.

And then do this
>>
>>52445654
There's no sticker ring on the DIR868L, just a plastic circle that doesn't come off at all

There definitely is one. Use a razor or something to get under this edge here.
>>
>>52445806
That's a sticker? I swear that looks like a plastic piece that would break if I tried to pry it
>>
>>52445821
Post pictures of the piece of shit anon
>>
>>52445834
just a second

...you do realize this is an image board/forum style communication, not an IM chat room, right? Just take the time to take and post the pics...

Kids these days...

and the bottom, just to prove I unscrewed the bottom screws
>>
>>52445821
Yeah it's just plastic with adhesive under it. It will come off.
>>
>>52445929
Blast it with mom's hair dryer for 30 sec and peel that fucker off.
>>
What are you going to do once you get in there anon? Looking to put in some u.fl to rp-sma adapters for external antennas?
>>
>>52445974
The thing got bricked, need to re-flash firmware through the serial connectors inside

>>52445956
The adhesive kinda ruined the sticker but whatevs, got it off
>>
>>52446023
Aah gotcha. I almost did the same thing to my EA6500v2. Flashed dd-wrt, then went to advancedtomato and it got stuck bootlooping. After doing a 30-30-30 reset for the 10th time it magically came to life.

>>52446050
Fuck I guess that's one way to spot warranty voiders. Hope it works out OP, the feeling of bricking expensive shit is the worst.
>>
>>52446126
From what I've looked at though, there's a problem with getting the 5GHz antenna to work again for some reason
>>
>>52445404

I'm betting it's not meant to be opened, and the only way to do it, it to pretty much destroy the housing, and thus voiding any warranty on it. Welcome to the world of consumer electronics.
>>
>>52446182
yeah, as I've already discovered, the adhesive sticker on top gets ruined a bit
>>
keeping thread alive, curious about status of OP's firmware issue
>>
>>52446827
I am too actually. You actively working on it OP?

How'd it brick?
>>
Give it back, Tyrone.
