Any recommendations for small mATX cases? Ideally needs to be able to fit an average size GPU and a H100i. I've been eyeing up the corsair air 240, but it still looks a little big for what I'm after.
>>
Maybe take a look at the bitfenix phenom/prodigy/whathaveyou mATX versions. They're pretty small and can propably fit your specs but they have the inverted mobo shit.
>>
The 240 is complete shit. Very poor build quality, zero noise isolation, some stupid design choices and almost no width clearance for aftermarket GPU coolers.

I pre-ordered it based on good reviews, used it for five months and binned it. Moved to a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv (another big ITX case) and I love it.

Neither are really what you're after, though. Even the bitfenix cases on their mITX platform mentioned above are big. If you really want small, go with either Lian Li or Silverstone.

Also worth giving EVGAs Hadron cases a look if you're after something different (but still tiny)
>>
>>52433294
Is the Hadron itx only? The main reason I'm looking for mATX is I already have a PC which I'm looking to move into a smaller case, but the socket is am3+. I'd preferably not want to get an entirely new CPU and shit so I'm not spending a fortune.
>>

Prodigy M is pretty much the same size as a lot of mITX cases like Prodigy, Obsidian 250D, and Node 304.

I wouldn't spend that much money then.

Just get a Core 1100 or an N200. Both sub-$40 cases and super-tiny.
>>
>>52434086
I do like the look of the prodigy m. If I was to get the white version do you think ventilation would be too much of a problem, given I'll be using a dual 120mm rad on the top?
>>
>>52434007
Bugger, I mis-read it as mATX. The same still applies, just ignore the Hadron bit
>>
>>52432890
Get a small atx case instead.
>>
>>52433277
>used it for five months and binned it
Just no!

I love this case, have two of them and with properly controlled fans it is VERY quiet.
>>
>>52434437
Not op but such thing doesn't exist aside from htpc cases. Or my google-fu is too weak.
>>
Is the Phantom 410 a cute case
>>
>>52434494
Nah, I've looked for small sized atx cases but the smallest are like corsair air 540s which are huge, but look smaller because they're a cube
>>
>>52434532
The phantom 410 is the case I'm using now, but it's still pretty big despite it not having much hardware in it.
>>
>>52434558
You could get the Corsair 250D or as another anon mentioned, the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv.

I have a Prodigy, it's really nice and my CPU temps don't go over 45 degrees, but I'm kinda wishing I went with white. The black shows a lot of dust and it's kind of a pain to move stuff around because it's so small.

If I get a new case, I'll probably get the Air 240 or Phanteks Enthoo Evolv.
>>
>>52434871
I think I'm going to go with the prodigy m. Most of the air intake will be at the top and being expelled out the back and bottom, so front ventilation im not too fussed about. Also found a mobo to use with it
>>
>>52434479
Please teach me master. I had a Nepton 240L with 2x NF-P12s and 2x NF-F12s on top, put through a tbalancer. PSU & GPU were hybrid passive, and the HDDs were 5200 & 5400 RPM affairs.

It was the noisiest case I've ever worked with, I suspect because of the ~2mm window. How do you maintain silence?
>>
>>52436293
>the 2mm window

But not the wide open mesh in the front and top?

In the end just get better fans.

pretty much this
got 2 AF 120s as exhaust and 4 SP 120s for the radiator, honestly i can't even hear it even under load, and it's on top of a nightstand next to my desk.
Just get better fans i guess.
>>
>>52434186
I run a prodigy m (no radiators and as many/big fans as will fit) my internals are basically at ambient. You should be fine. The handles do lose their charm.
>>
>>52436355
The orientation of the fans would've been unlikely to affect the noise, but it could've done. Not that this makes the situation any better.

And please point me the way of something better than reduced-speed noctuas

Core V21.
It's cheap and fits tons of rads (280+240+180)
Sadly you can't get one without a window unless you buy two and sell one with 2 windows on ebay.
>>
>>52432890

I have the Micro case and really love it so far. Thought it wouldn't cool well but it does a great job. Opt for front, rear and top fans. (2 int 2 out)
>>

They sell case sides of the Thermaltake store
>>
>>52440566
only the windowed one. I want less windows, not more.

Prodigy M is such a stylistically regressive case.

The future is horizontal, not regular tiny ATX (i.e. vertical).

I have one of these, in that color. I love it, good cable management and no cooling issues, even with stock fans and stock cooler. It almost big enough internally to fit an ATX, and for my mATX gigabyte board, has plenty of leftover room. Overall, I love the case, I love corsair, but the material is a bit cheap and its bigger than it needs to be for an mATX. While there is no excuse for the easily scratched material (including the window) the size comes with a big advantage - you essentially don't have to worry about the size of your graphics card. Can fit a full 3 fan system, look into this if you are serious about the case.
