I installed some torrented software and the cracks/keygens and files itself were pretty suspicious. I have some antivirus installed that popped out nothing but it's free and shit. Scan was fine too. I've run malwarebytes and it was fine. But I'm still not sure if everything is OK or now. I didn't notice any major change in performance and processes that run in the background seem OK. But how can I know for sure? I don't want some keylogger or whatever it could've been to stay with me forever (and if I caught something fishy there very well might be no way to get rid od it other than replacing all my HDs).
What would /g do?
upload the files to virus total
>But how can I know for sure?
you can't, no matter what you do
Download malwarebytes
Run it
Delete viruses if there's any
How fucking stupid can you be?

done that already and there was nothing but the program not only was suspicious, but it also crashed my whole GUI upon installing (torrent was made by some Russian and had good opinions with no antivirus alerts but it means nothing).
>>52417489
that's what I'm afraid of

the torrent is 4GB and I'm sure the guy who made it messed up with the installer so even if thinks like keygen are fine I'd still have to upload the whole thing

>What would /g do?
Use FOSS instead of pirating shitware.

sometimes it's not possible and you know that
I needed that particular program to finish big semester-long project for my university and there was literally no replacement for it capable of doing the same thing

Civil Designer 2015, my uni is not part of their official program that provides free licences for educational purposes
If you need to run shady software, keep contained in a VM.

>pirating for "university work"
Use your departments computer lab instead of pirating then. I did exactly that.
>>52418427
We didn't have this one particular program there.
>>52418501
Ask the lab guy in charge to install it. Departments have a responsibility to supply licenses of mandatory programs to their students, either by giving "student licenses" or giving access to them on the lab.

>What would /g do?
start by uploading the keygens to malwr.com, to see if what suspicious things they do.

ICARUS!

Did you need to read some specific file format? because LibreCAD can do pretty much everything your program does, if you're working on flat blue prints, I don't know about 3d though.

god, how aweful that would be if it was some nasty ransomware
