Yes there are poor people who can't afford macs and yes you can feel better than them if you want to. Doesn't change the fact that producing cheap computers lets you compete with Apple.
I use computer and os interchangeably here because you pretty much have to buy a mac to use Mac OS

it's not meant to work on any other hardware. that's the point.

the computer is a whole product, not separate hardware/software products.

when you buy an apple product you are buying a complete end to end product, a computer, or a phone, or whatever, not just a fraction of a product (software, which needs hardware to run)

That's the problem, though. Their 'end to end products' are completely shit and ridiculously overpriced, so much so that they're not even worth buying when one aspect of the 'product' may be better than competition.
OS X itself isn't really a bad OS, but it's essentially impossible to not have a bad experience while using it because everything else about Macs and Apple in general is so utterly terrible.

While I've never personally owned a Mac computer, I have worked with them extensively (iMacs with 10.6, most recently), and I owned an iPod Touch (which I uses pretty regularly) for around seven years.
And at the end of the day, they were all terrible.

What do I have to be jealous of? An operating system that doesn't give its users as much control as Linux does, running on overpriced and easily broken hardware, working inside an ecosystem whose primary purpose is to sell you more products?
Why would that EVER be preferable to what I have right now?

Not referring to linux here. Linux is good but not everyone of us have the time and/or interest to learn to take advantage of it's capabilities.

It gives the user more control over if they want to close the process or just the window. Programs can stay in memory if the user wants it to, instead of having it load back in which can be time consuming.

It can be annoying/confusing at first but ultimately it makes more sense.

I'd say it's like getting a car. You can get a durable decently powered and featured car ready to road or you can get a good base car for building.

Car enthusiasts usually mock people who buy modern and high performing cars even though they are incabable or not willing to spend time with it in the garage or a track. And the same enthusiast spend hours and hours tuning, mending and customizing their cars.

Now that the porche drivers have entered the /g/arage of enthusiasts there is inevitable friction between people and their views. People are separeted by the initial looks of the car they drive even though there might be stock weekend sx200's and on the other side trackday 911.

Everyone needs an OS and chooses one to fit their needs and lifestyle. They are alternatives to each other. Not unconditional goods, betters or bests.

I have an old macbook pro from 2012.

If I don't do anything on it other than school related stuff or lesson planning do I really suffer from not having the macbook retina?

I use muh windows pc for games.

Windows has this feature as well, and it's almost exactly the same.
In fact in Windows it's also the way you can move between desktops, and move applications between desktops. So it's actually even more useful.

Windows share vulnerabilities, but some are system dependant.
Example, a bug on osx 10.5 affected entire series up to 10.11.
A bug on xp and vista doesn't affect 7 and up.
Most of windows security bugs are shared so if they sum up total windows bugs it will be just as much as the version with most holes.
tl:dr Youre a fag.
