most underrated mouse button
>>
>>52359702
Well I mean comparatively, it's the least useful mouse button (unless you're faggot with 365 buttons on your mouse)

But it's still damn useful.
>>
>>52359722
I said underrated, not the best
>>
>>52359722
It's more useful than right click when browsing the web, especially on 4chan
>>
>>52359750
conceded
>>
I use that to close and or open new tabs when clicking links. A lot quicker than trying to aim on the lil x button
>>

>>>/reddit/
>>
On Plan 9, it may as well be one of the most important buttons.
>>
Remember how Apple ruined UIs forever by shipping their mice with only one button? The only reason the double click even exists is to accommodate their mouse's "simplicity".
>>
>>52359702
It's so annyoing it's integrated with the scroll wheel.
>tfw no Contour Mouse for EU
>>
>>52359702
i use the middle mouse button a lot
you can use it to open a new link to a new tab, close tabs, etc.
>>

This meme needs to die
>>
>>52360750
you'll find a lot less of it on reddit, faggot.
>>
>>52360493
No. Do you seriously think that "left click to select, right click to open" would have been a better UI choice?
>>
>buy a cheap mouse on the internet
>turns out it was a great choice, very comfortable
>the only issue is that middle click is kinda hard, but it's ok

fast forward a few months, middle click no longer works, so now I'm used to Ctrl-click for opening in a new tab.
kinda sucks, but I got used to it.
>>
>>52360801
Not him, but yes, oh my God yes.
>>
>>52362336
So what would you have for contextual menu, if right click is open?
>>
>>52362336
you know you can enable one click use in windows? So everything behaves like a hyperlink
>>
>>52359702

It's useful as fuck in 3ds Max and a bunch of other pro applications

lol thanks. I didn't know about the ctrl+click thing.
>>
>>52362499

Middle button.
>>
>>52362499
Middle button, obviously.

>>52362893
I run Linux, but I'm sure I can configure it there as well. I'll have to look into it.
>>
>>52360801
Are there seriously people that don't use "mouseover to select, left click to open"?
>>
I developed some sort ocd that makes me want to middle click random stuff even though I don't actually need to.
Like images, tabs, windows, etc
even though the action may open/close them and I might not want to open/close them

Most underrated keyboard button. Helps when you have trouble right clicking on your laptop.
>>
>>52359702
Using GNU/Linux with no desktop environment and Conkeror as web browser, I can
safely say this is not the case for me. Indeed, I have no use for the right
click button, but middle click opens tabs and pastes my previous text
selection, I might actually use it more than the left click.

>>52364375
I use this as the meta key for my window manager, it's the key I use the most
when not typing text.
>>
I use it always to pan around my drawings in AutoCad. So fucking useful.
>>
that new tab feel when you click, feels good man.
>>
>>52364375
I love the menu key.
The only way to quickly use spelling suggestions without wasting a lot of time.
>>
If you use a CAD program, is the MOST USEFUL button

If you buy a $10 mouse then you shouldn't expect that it will work ten years later
>>
>>52365999
nice trips.
it was a 20$ mouse back then, and i still use it despite being yellow (was white one time) and having both the scroll and the button broken.
>it has like 11 years...
>>
>>52359702
I use it more than the right click when browing the web.
>>
>>52366168
or just copy pasting
>>
>>52359702
I mostly use is as a scroll
>>
>>52366239
you don't use keyboard shortcuts for copy/paste ?
>>
>>52362241
Ctrl click is superior
>>
>>52359702
while surfing its the most used for me, but im a autistic tab whore...
