How much would the most expensive PC made of commercially available parts cost? I'm talking case packed to the rafters, ludicrously expensive cooling system, etc
>>

A gorillian dollars.
>>
about three fiddy
>>
Well if you talking about a super computer upwards of 500 million dollars if your talking about a pc probably going to run you about 30k
>>
I would say around 25k, including peripherals
>>
i will sell you this celeron for $10000000000000000000000000000 dollars
>>

Holy balls

You can probably run a high-end workstation up to $40 grand or more.

Standalone servers, $250k+ isn't unheard of.

>one socket
It's so cute when /v/ tries to look tough.
>>
$50,000 with peripherals is my guess.
>>
>>52357905
I was going to say the same thing.
>>
>>52356210
>single CPU on an assrock gaymer board
>only 128 GB of RAM
>Windows 10 on a workstation
>CONSUMER Windows 10
>32'' "monitor"
>a fucking sound card, audiophile meme speakers and headphones
>gaymer shit everywhere
is this what redditors think a high-end system looks like? is this really how far /g/ has fallen?
>>
>>52356210

Something along the lines of a rack server, if we're not counting supercomputers.
>ProLiant DL980 G7
>4x1200W redundant PSUs
>80 cores + 160 threads (Xeon E7-2850)
>11 PCI express slots
>4TB DDR3 FBDIMMs (128x32GB)

It's Socket 2011 though, 2011-3 shit might be crazier.

That memory rise card is pretty fucking cool.

Got up to this including a 30'' IPS display and input peripherals
The system itself
>dual 18-core Xeon E5-2699 v3s
>512 GB DDR4-2133 registered ECC RAM
>Single Quadro M6000
>Dual Tesla K40s (thought if just going with a dual M6000 and a single Tesla, but whatever)
>Z turbo drive PCIe SSD with four 512GB modules
>two 4TB mechanical hard disks
>dual blu-ray writers

>>52358531
>all that hardware and shoving it into an ugly low-quality gamertard case instead of a clean, professional and far more expandable workstation case

>>52358634
It looks like the current best chip you can get is an E7-8895 v3 which is an 18-core chip with 45 MB of L3 cache, 8-way support and controller support for 1.5 TB of RAM per socket
>>
>>52356210
loving that one case fan for $60
>>
>>52355988
i think 40k would probably be about the upper limit as long as you're not cramming in unnecessary duplicate parts or any shit like that
>>
>>52358769
>30'' IPS display
Go OLED.
>>
>>52358822
I don't think they had one, I just went with what was available to choose from in their configuration.
