>Samsung's new fridge has cameras inside the fridge
>You can use smartphone to check what's inside the fridge while grocery shopping so you don't end up buying items you already have

This actually seems useful.

Will this eventually become a standard feature for fridges?
>>
>>52282165

Implying I want the botnet in my fridge

>muh everything needs to be connected to the internet so I can control it from an app

here's an idea, have a look in the fridge and make a list like everyone has been doing for as long as refrigeration has existed

I'm a firm believer in appliances that do what they're supposed to do and don't need anything more powerful than a microcontroller in them for computing
>>
>>52282165

The idea is nice but I only want my freezer to freeze up on me, not the entire fridge

And, like a lot of smart technology, it won't receive any security updates and will inevitably become vulnerable to some sort of attack. Your fridge will end up in some kid's botnet.

But to answer your question, no. This is technology that seems novel at first but serves little to no actual purpose. If you dont know what is currently in your fridge then you probably arent the person buying groceries regularly, and simply installing a camera somewhere inside is only going to allow you to see what is directly in front of the camera.

You know those moments when you're at the fridge and think up a clever shitpost to make, and you think how great would it be if you could post it from your fridge?
>>
Stupid idea,

Depending on where the camera is and what you have in your fridge you wont be able to see everything like you can looking in person and moving shit. Not to mention the extra cost added to the fridge.

I love using my phone for all sorts of shit that's not really needed, but I would much rather make a list than look at a live stream of my fridge at the store like a retard.

It seems retarded and unnecessary.
Look into your fridge before you go shopping. Write a list of the stuff you need. Take the list with you when you go shopping. Buy what you need. Throw list away.

But I forgot, writing things down isn't something the younger generation does anymore.
