Well I looked at the /g/wiki and the cheapest one it recommends is the Logitech Z623 speakers + subwoofer which is slightly out of my price range at $120 on amazon

Expecting a condescending answer here, but how do the Logitech Z623 speakers stand against something like an entry level 2.1 channel soundbar? I've lurked for a little bit and people seem to be strongly against soundbars here, but from what I've seen, that's only when compared to passive speaker systems

That's a troll chart.
2.1 is shit. Get a pair of tower speakers with 8inch or larger drivers and a receiver with atleast 100wpc and rock the house. Check goodwill, craigslist, etc for deals.
breh, grab yourself some Bayton B652 + Lepai LP 2020A+

Not him but I have a yamaha receiver and two Klipsch Speakers I use for my pc. I'm going to move into the basement and I want to get something for my tv. Maybe a soundbar& sub just for movie watching.
What I really want is a pair of floorstanding stereo speakers. I had a pair when I was younger and loved them. Now they are hard to come by and I don't want the tower speakers, but they're a last resort.
Advice?

so what's wrong with the z623 system?
I've had it for three years and haven't found much wrong with it
>>52255769
Dont believe this schill. Nothing replaces a good subwoofer. Your ears can hear from 20 Hz.

>so what's wrong with the z623 system?
The only complaint that I have is the left speaker dies after a few years.
I'm on my second set and both times the left speaker died after about 3 years.
are these any good? They're by Samsung.

>Nothing replaces a good subwoofer.
>good
Key word there ya dingus. A "good" subwoofer will not, I repeat, will NOT cost you under $500. Unless you have that kind of money to spend, any decent 3 way system will blow your sub-$500 Niggertech "PHAT BASS DAYUM" subwoofer

Really? Interesting. I haven't had any problems outside of regular wear and tear. The contact on the on/off switch is a bit finicky, but it's never cut out, so I'm not worried.
Klipsch ProMedia 2.1

Of course, but that's not the point. At this price point a decent sized driver in a passive speaker will have a much bass as a shitty ching chong sub.
I know /g/ is all about those bookshelf speakers and receivers/amplifiers, but does anyone know if these are any good?
I already have a pair of Micca MB42 on my PC, I'm just looking for something to improve the sound on my TV for movies and videogames.

And I also found myself on the same boat as you, after all the research I found out those Klipsch are the way to go, a lot of people will recommend you to get some Monitors and a Receiver, well if you got the money go for it, but if you are on a budget, go for those Klipsch, watch some reviews on youtube.

gay cia nigger detected, sicking Terry after you.
Why does /g/ never talk about Minicomponents?
Are they that terrible?
