hello /g/

I dont know if this belongs here, although it is undoubtedly software technology, so please keep the pretentious answers to a minimum.

Im looking for a debian alternative to Propellerhead's Reason. I have googled it but there doesnt seem to be a solid answer from the community, with many posts dating to 2004-2005.

Are there any DAW to recommend?

Can we get some recommendations for legitimate digital music tutorials? And by legitimate I mean NOT any teenager showing how to move kick drum and base samples around on a time slider to make dubstep. I mean real tutorials where you learn the theory behind sound waves so you know how to *really* use this software.

Here are two Ive found to start things off:

A theory tutorial behind digital sound wave manipulation

A tutorial on how to use LMMS a Linux DAW
