I don't know about in Europe, but in the US you can buy a Toshiba Canvio 3TB external drive for about what you'd get a 2TB internal one for.
The thing is, it fucking sucks as an external drive, but the drive itself is fine. It's the SATA to USB adapter that's shit. Open it up, install it and you're good to go. It's the most cost effective way of getting a 3TB internal HD that I can think of off hand.
Bear in mind though, you'll void your warranty opening it. You won't get it open without destroying the enclosure so there's no way to put it back together without it being obvious that you did.
Also be careful opening it. It's not readily obvious where the seam is at first. You could end up slicing your hand if you're not careful. Once you get it started it's fairly easy, and shouldn't take that much force to do.
