>>

NEVER,lol
>>
>>52212831
That looks like shit, you can easily get Linux to look like that in most desktop enviroments, but why would you?
>>
>>52212831
Funny how Windows evolved it's look for years and years. And now it's just black squares made in paint. Looks good though as a minimalist.
>>

yea right op, no one ever wants to see you

Linux will never be more than a niche product for try-hards.

This false sense of superiority doesn't suit you guys.

Looks better if it was Linux with openbox if you want minimalist. You can even get all the windows to follow the same style, same with logos and get your whole own thing going. Something which is impossible on windows.

Windows does not look good even if you like the windows style because as soon as you open something, that's not the style you see anymore you have two clashing styles.

It is probably the most used operating system now that Android is used by people. The only place it is not #1 is as desktops. Everything else, servers, mobile phones, embedded and super computers it is number one by a large margin.

April 2016, which is the next Ubuntu release and has Unity on Mir, which looks pretty nice. Pic related.

It is easy to make your office software, webbrowser, email software and etc. etc. follow the same style as well. Just how you like it.

The music player is just a example, you tech illiterate fool. A computer can do more than what's on the screen at the moment.

Didn't you know that? Even your average grandma knows that. What do you do when the computer is turned off? Do you think it's useless and throw it away? Hope you have a mac or something without a off button.

So do you. Some things just can't be helped.

But seriously, Ubuntu 16.04 looks massively better than Windows 10, which has no consistency at all in UI elements.

Windows 10 has attractive UI but is just on the Surface. It is a clusterfuck under the hood and the system of deploying updates is controversial.

My main issue is not being able to turn off updates and having to reset PC for every new build which is a hassle. Takes close to 7 hours to reset PC and add to that the hassle of copying data back and forth.
>>
>>52212831
the best looking OS is the one that you can't see.
>>
>>52213235
Looks subpar to my phone actually, but you do seem to have a brick for a pc.

Also why would a mac need an off button when I can drop it in water?
>>

I like it. is there any videos of of it in action?

>So do you. Some things just can't be helped.

>muh Linux has to be the best because it's free and all other opinions just come from paid shills

I have nothing against Linux, I understand they want to look cleaner and more like a usable OS than a clusterfuck.
But this design is just bullshit from my point of view. If you like it: okay.
But accept there are other people on this planet with other opinions. Otherwise I would just say
Fuck your opinion
Fuck your Linux
Fuck you

Linux is way more functional than Windows. Which is the reason Linux is used in critical systems like servers or as the daily system for astronauts on the space station.
>>
>>52213367
If you mean "Can it be a Facebook machine?" which is what 95% of the planet uses their computers for, then yes. Otherwise it depends on what the hell you're talking about. You can run Office and Photoshop if you're really inclined to. Beyond that, it's a better environment for development. There are a lot of Linux compatible games available on Steam these days as well. Windows still runs better in some regards, but for most people it works.

>>52213429
I don't know of any videos of the latest builds, but you can download them and try them out if you really want to, they're available to anyone.

>>
>>52213501
I like the concept but I am skeptical about Canonical. Unity is very restricted DE, very few modifications with tweak tool which does not work properly for cursor and window controls.

That is why I am a huge fan of Xubuntu and Xfce. They got it right.
>>
>>52213450
There are plenty of people with shit opinions, sure. Yours just happens to be one of them. Keep on shilling for a privacy-violating botnet that looks like garbage.
>>
>>52213525
Yeah I am a Xubuntu user also. With Compton it is pretty much perfect. A few bugs here and there but overall its solid, fast, light and can look pretty good. I do quite like Unity in the same way I like Windows. If you use it how it was design to be used it works well. If you want to tweak it then you are gonna have a bad time.

For the blissfully ignorant, that is Cinnamon.
>>
>>52213545
I am happy for both Canonical and Redhat. They are doing a brilliant job of creating wonderful distros and providing an alternative to the oppressive Windows/OSX monopoly on personal computing.

16.04 with Mir looks polished and superior aesthetically to Windows 10 and has the advantage of terminal and other powerful Linux tools. I will create a partition and install 16.04 alongside Xubuntu, really excited.

10 is ugly. Horrible icons, shitty 1px borders (I guess they can't remove them completely), disgusting default wallpaper.
It just looks amateur as fuck overall.

8 default theme and the old classic theme are the best.
Default XP and default 7 are bad, almost as bad as 10.
