I have a Galaxy Tab S that I use for when I'm too lazy to use my PC. I also use it heavily for manga and porn. I also just bought a Chuwi Hi8 (pic related) in hopes that Windows tablets are decently good at playing VNs.

money represents different things to different people.
some guy was here saying $500/month for his "cushy office job" was good money in his country. for someone like him, after rent and food and stuff, $300 for a device to make posting from the toilet more convenient seems like an unreasonable price to pay. some people make $300 more readily than that, and it's not that steep a price.
You can't seriously expect people to come to the same value judgments as you unless they share exactly the same income, needs, etc...

What needs does an tablet satisfy?
using my tablet to stream some sports right now, otherwise i use it for duolingo or to read epubs/pdfs.
it's ok, but meh,prefer to use my phone if i had to do something other than those 3 things.

I bought an iPad mini on a whim, and desu it sits on the coffee table 80% of the time. I do use it for Reading/browsing in bed/shitter, for grocery shopping and ebay/amazon and find those apps are way better than the web interface. I'll also occasionally reply to emails with it if they are short.
Its an extra, and not something I needed at all, and would get by fine without it. But it does have its place. Its a few years old now, and banged up, and I wont be replacing it with a newer model any time soon, but it will kept getting used around the house.
Oh, it's also handy when I don't want to leave the girlfriend unattended with my laptop... shes happy pecking away on the iPad instead of snooping. haha

My mom uses my old Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet
Shit never breaks or have any sort of virus and she can watch all of her shows with super ease. The pen makes clicking things super easier. Everything is perfect for her.
I have a Nexus 6 and it's great for videos, reading, and emails. It feels fucking great to be able to receive notifications for the 8 emails I have. When I get back to school I probably won't need to bring my laptop or Dell Venue 8. Unintentionally a great porn machine too. Phablets are a godsend for my lifestyle
Also have a Galaxy Tab 7 2.0 that's purely used for reading erotica. Waste of money but it was my first tablet from a few years back and I didn't know better
