Go to settings > privacy; uncheck things.
Go to settings > privacy > content settings > cookies: keep local data until you quit your browser; block third-party cookies and site data; add exceptions for sites you want to remember you and keep logged in, for example [*.]reddit.com, [*.]9gag.com
Again, settings > privacy > content settings: turn off the things you don't want.

Install Ublock Origin, tick all the 3rd party filders you'd want to use and update them.
Install https everywhere.

Chrome/Chromium have a huge issue in Linux where the mouse scroll speed is literally crawling. I have to scroll 200 times to reach the bottom of a thread. Had to install imwheel which fucked my ability to scroll in other Windows properly.

Firefox does not have this issue, even with smooth scrolling disabled, the scroll speed is normal and consistent without jitters. This is a bug persisting for as long as I can remember, but no fixes.

41.0.2218.0
42.0.2296.0 (64-bit)
44.0.2362.0 (64-bit)

They all failed to render many pages correctly. The scaling issue was very pervasive. Tried to check if there was something those websites used, some library or setting, but everything was right in every other browser. I'm pretty sure it was from the Chromium build.
