Just been running solus on a virtual machine. Was really disappointed. It was stable, but it had very little features. I reckon it will be better in a couple of years, but now its not good enough. Elementary is much more feature rich.

I had high hopes for budgie desktop, so compiled it on fedora.
It's actually pretty fucking trash to be quite honest.
If it had more features then maybe, but God I felt more in control using barebones i3 setup than budgie.
Never tried elementary, but it just looks like a pisspoor OS X Clone that shouldn't even be it's own distribution

Well, honestly Solus is a bunch of good looking packages put together (Gnome, Arc, Faba-Mono). Not saying it's bad, just stating.
Elementary OS looks like old school cool. Fuck minimalism, everything has the depth and sexiness before minimalism took over.

This. The best of all is that Deepin got ported to Qt, which is a substantial increase in quality, compared to GTKshit.
The only issue I have with it is that it's not Ubuntu based anymore, as my laptop struggles with the Nvidia drivers in any other distro.

Its kind of stupid to use Pantheon or whatever the fuck the new DE is called.
You can simply generate a dock or a panel through xfce, set alpha to 0 for panel and you achieve the elementaryOS look without the bloat of Pantheon and outdated packages.
