are you using stock cooler?

yes

you should open up your case and touch it.
>>
>>52159309
It's not hot at all. AMD CPUs have different cpu thermal subsystem than Intel, so most programs doesn't read temperatures correctly.
>>

id be more worried about that text rendering nigga shit broke my eyes

Found your problem. Stock coolers are junk.
>>
Remove the glue underneath the CPU cooler.
>>
>>52159309
Your CPU is faulty.
You should replace it with Intel.

Stock coolers are trash unless you have low-power CPU. It doesn't matter what the brand is.
>>
>>52160757
What counts as low power? Non overclockers? Anything below 4.0 Ghz?
>>
>>52160213

For me it was the other way around, displaying 20°C under full load. But that was Phenom II

Can confirm, using a 4790K at stock settings with stock cooler and hitting a 100C under load. It's literally just for emailing.

>change coller, the one from stock suck and does not have big performance and makes alot of noise
>>
>>52161014
Now go and try stress test on the CPU. Maybe it won't burn itself, but it will make fair amount of heat and noise.
>>
>>52159309
Does it even have thermal paste on, maybe the cooler's fans stopped spinning, if it's at stock speed the stock cooler shouldn't let it get that hot, mine never passed 75C on stock.

Eh no. My memelake barely tops 50c under max load and is still extremely quiet, can hear HDD spinning louder than the CPU fan.

I use a stock cooler with a i5-4690k, it honestly isn't that bad. To make matters worse I have an H440 case so airflow is shit tier.
It idles at like 47c and max temp is like 75c when rendering video with a fairly low fan curve.
AMD stock coolers are less shit than Intel ones though.

It's not, speccy is a piece of shit. Use open source hardware monitor. I had the same problem with my AMD laptop. Speccy would lie to me and tell me my CPU was idling at 120°C when it was in fact actually just 30°C in open source hardware monitor.
>>
Because you're using speecy. Speecy is shit with amd products
>>
>>52159325
Literally this.

No, you butthurt man child who goes instantly in to defensive mode "I DONT WANT TO BUY INTEL BECAUSE IM POOR"

It's actually an AMD problem. Their APU's don't report temps correctly. We have this fucking thread every day.
>>
>>52162078
Actually speccy is legitimately garbage. Had an intel laptop running speccy and it told me it was 80 degrees celcius while idle.

ive noticed my temps being way off. is there a practical way (or is it practical) to change your thermometers to get more accurate reads? i hi 99 on my CPU occasionally and its not hot and i thought intel's shutdown at 67.. shit has to be wrong. (using liquid cooling system)
>>
>>52162621
I dunno, I once had an HP laptop running a 2.6x Linux kernel, I think I managed to get that to idle at 76 degrees once, so I'm sure 80 is possible.

>>

>32nm sandy bridge mobile housefire

Yeah you need to buy some canned air and dust the ventilation ports but all sandy birdshits are naturally hot as fuck so at best you're gonna get the tempts to idle at 40c, maybe.
>>
>>52160817
AMD products are only initially cheaper. The performance per watt for both their GPUs and CPUs are crap compared to intel/nvidia. More wattage + less performance = unnecessary heat. You get what you pay for.
>>
>>52162399
It's good enough. It will give you stable cpu temps under max load and that's all that matters.
>>
>>52163540
This.
They usually consume more energy to work so you will pay the difference with time after all.
>>
>>52160757
stock cooler i5 4960 werks for me (tm)

27c idle, 45c vidya, 70c heavy load (rendering)
>>
>>52163540
The heat output and power usage difference between intel and AMD is extremely insignificant for the average joe to be honest (at least for desktops). This is coming from someone with a haswell i5 desktop.
>>
>>52159309
i had the same problem with my i5, for some reason the thermal paste that came already put on the cooler wasn't doing anything. put some new stuff on and it should help.
>>
>>52163563
No you won't. You'll save like 5 dollars a year if you use intel instead of amd. Stop spouting bullshit.
>>
>>52163652
The problem is speccy NOT the apu.
>>
>>52163676

Read the links

http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2122665/understanding-temperature-amd-cpus-apus.html
http://www.overclock.net/t/1330946/amd-temperature-guide
http://www.overclock.net/t/1128821/amd-temp-information-and-guide

AMD's recent chips do not have a real temp sensor on die. They use a far more complex and accurate method to measure a metric called thermal margin. Pretty much nothing displays this figure correctly aside from AMD overdrive.
>>
>>52163742
I personally own a chinkpad with an intel cpu. CPUs DO NOT run on load 24/7 so even though amd CPUs have around twice the power consumption, you never save much money if you go with intel.

It would take you over 10 years to save the money you paid extra with intel. I still think intel is a better choice because of better single thread performance but not because you're going to save significantly on electricity.

So do us all a favor and stop spouting bullshit making intel users look bad. Unless you're an amdfag out to get us, if that's the case then die.
