>deepin is a Linux distribution committed to providing an elegant, user-friendly, safe and stable operating system for users all over the world.
>deepin 15 pays more attention to internationalization, and is featured with brand new mirror image acceleration (CDN acceleration). Languages supported are up to 30 kinds, thus the infinite charm of deepin can be experienced globally! Newly added languages are as follows:Malay, Bulgarian, Swedish, Croatian, Japanese, Korean, Finnish, Spanish (Latin America), Hindi (India), Ukrainian

>Besides, we have reached an important cooperative relationship with Intel. We will collaboratively utilize Crosswalk Project to migrate existing Web applications to deepin (Linux platform), thus to enrich the diversity of application for deepin and improve deepin experience!

>Beautiful to Eyes, Pleasant to Ears
>With simple, elegant and content-first principle, flat design has been adopted for the interface, new Control Center is more unified with Dock. Meanwhile, a whole-new white system-theme has been used in this Edition. Awarded wallpapers from Deepin Wallpaper Contest are preset in the system, to customize a deepin for you!

So /g/, have you already installed the latest version of the best looking linux distro?

I would like to remember you that Deepin 15 is no longer based on Ubuntu but on Debian. They've also redone their DE and it's now based on Qt.

Enjoy the extra performance.
>>
What about it's lag/bloat? Last time I tried it, it was like I'm back in 2000 running some SuSE Linux on a 256MB RAM P2 machine. Slow as fuck.

>Use the latest kernel of Linux 4.2.0 stable version
>Add more drivers of bluetooth, network card and sound card
>The system base is changed to Debian sid from Ubuntu.
>Initializer (int) is changed to systemd from Upstart.
>The default shell is restored to bash from Zsh.
>Basic packages upgrade: GTK+3.18.6-1, Qt 5.5.1, gcc 5.3.1

Deepin is not Puppy linux nor it claims to be it, but if you ask me this version has improved performance if you compare it from 2014.3, which was good anyway.
>>
Why this distro is the exact same as every other distro:

Because it's just a shitty minimalistic hipsterfag OS that's only upside is 'no botnet' or whatever other shitty excuse alot of /g/ users use to sound cool and edgy. Seriously if you're that fucking bothered about muh botnet you obviously have something to hide.

It's made by the chinese, I think some people on /g/ would start calling this distro a botnet too, even if the source code is public etc. I don't really catch your point. I never claimed that you had to install Deepin to avoid the botnet meme.

It's practically guaranteed that a neckbeard will download it and storm around /g/ telling everyone that it's the best, that it's superior and that you're a cuck for not using it. My point is that Any lesser known Linux distro is a meme and people should just give up on making operating systems until we leave this shitty minimalistic desgin style behind. This OS looks awfully similar to alot of free launchers you can download on Android, it also looks like the stock wallpapers you can get /on android/.

Why can't people make unique software and operating systems?

>deepin is a Linux distribution
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Why do people still think this is a reason to trust software?
If I made a botnet and put the source on GitHub, would it seize being a botnet?
If I made a virus and put the source on GitHub, would it seize being a virus?

Being open source only means there's a *potential* for malicious code to be discovered. But that's assuming someone (with the right intentions) actually goes through each line of code. And even if they did, there's no guarantee that he would catch the part of needlessly complicated/gibberish code that turns out to be the malicious part.
