Bought a new HDD but it doesn't show up in my BIOS. In Win win7 64 it recognizes there's new hardware but doesn't 'see' the hdd.
What to do?

Yes I'm aware. But what is a man to do if he already googled the shit out of his problems and has nowhere else to go?

I can help you!

Had this problem too. Set the BIOS to IDE support, or just try the solution that you see when you just fucking google for 5 minutes.

Disk management. Look it up in windows. I had to do it for my WD red when it didn't show up
>>52154544
install funtoo
Go to disk management, and assign a drive letter to the hard drive.

Click on Start,
On the right pane right click on "computer",
Click on "manage",
A new window will open
On the left pane click on "disk management "
Screenshot the page and post here for further directions

disk management, add new volume
or you could fucking google 'how to install new hdd'

If it doesn't show up in BIOS then you bought yourself an expensive brick. RMA.

install linux
If it's a Seagate 2/3TB, drink your own piss for all the good it'll do.
