Okay /g/

I have 100Mbps with no monthly cap.

Here's the problem: after downloading all of the movies and music I give a shit about, I'm out of things to do.

Give me some ideas. I've got an old Dell Optiplex Athlon II X2 5000+ machine hooked up to my TV for Kodibuntu, and I could basically do just about anything with it since with kodi running is only using about 400MB of the 4GB RAM, but I need some ideas.

The internet is already over polluted with image boards, so that's out... I don't trust some /g/ newfriend not to upload CP then pass an anonymous tip to the feds so no FTP server or shell host. IRC servers fail every time one of us starts one just for /g/ because they never catch on...

Gib ideas pl0x

Why would I waste brain power giving you precious ideas for free. My brain worked for those and you just want them for free.
>>
>>52121114
Because I'm looking for ideas to benefit /g/ at my expense. My bandwidth isn't free, nor is the electricity.

You're ideas are not good anyways. That's why you should give them out for free.

Anything having to do with file hosting where users can upload files should be out of the question since you're probably getting into hella trouble sooner or later.

Maybe a 4chan archive, I know there already are a bunch but they go down every now and then so it'd be nice to have an additional one

Just do a moderated ftp server where you select legit content to make public and delete any bad shit.
>>
>>52121166
This is a fine idea.

I may also grab the source code from pomf.se and set that up. From what I recall it was just the server costs that did it in, but I've got that well in hand since I'll be self hosting. If it gets big (it won't) and becomes too much for my server (and a backup dual Xeon ancient pedestal server) and connection to handle, I'll look into off site solutions with an ad revenue stream to make it mostly self sufficient.
>>
>>52121245
Also a good idea. If I quarantine uploaded content from public consumption and someone tips off the feds that there's CP on my server, it'll be easy to show that it's a set up since the only person that would know is the uploader

Just seed some torrents that wont get you popped with a cease and desist. Rhat way if you need your bandwidth you can pause it.

lucky you. i have 50 down and 50 up and cant even pirate shit without being caught by my isp and vpn's are either too complex or too slow for me. i also have no money for them.
>>
Get on a private tracker and seed like crazy for the Epeen.

If you have spare hard drive space, try to get onto a private tracker.

You wont get reported to your ISP and your 50/50 connection is more than fast enough to survive and keep your ratio over 1:1

I have 150/150 and manage to do alright.

I dont use a VPN or a proxy or anything. Just have to get into private trackers that aren't garbage.

MTV actually has open applications right now if you head over to their IRC.

>Hey guys,
>Hope you all had a great Christmas! The holidays are a time of giving back to people who have helped support you through the past year. Because of this we have decided as a community to open our doors for new members one last time before the holidays are over. The recruitment channel will be open for the next three days for anyone who wants to get in. So tell your friends, tell your family, tell your enemies to get in here while they still can! Please remember it is the holidays so we may not be able to respond immediately, be patient and we will respond when we’re available. Thank you! Here's the info you may need :
>http://widget.mibbit.com/ settings=9fdb59680443d5b0e451fb06fd69a3fe server=irc.morethan.tv&channel=%23morethan tv-holidays
>Or via irc client.
>Server : irc.morethan.tv Channel #morethan.tv-holidays
>You will need also to use pastebin since there will be an interview. The interview period will be betwewn December 28th-31st, 2015.

Though I will warn you, you are HIGHLY unlikely to pass the interview if you have never been on a private tracker before.

yeah, the "easiest" way into the scene is through what.cd

Their entrance interview process isn't particularly difficult and they are always accepting applications. Study up for it and you'll be fine, and if you already know a decent bit about torrenting, you'll know half the questions anyway.

Once you get into what.cd you can work on getting Power User status, which requires 5 uploads (5 things you upload, not 5 things you are seeding).

Once you get power user then you have access to the PU invite forums, which can then get you invited to pretty much any private tracker you want. Anime, music, porn, games, TV, movies, E-books, etc.

Tor relay, or better, exit node.
There are people who really need this network to live day to day.
