OP/Recent convert reporting in.

This is the difference between MPC and MPV with vp9 webm video. It's gets even worse with x264 mp4 using mpc-hc.
>>
The latest builds don't show moving picture for me. lachs0r's build works fine.
>>
>>52119448
Works fine for me.

Video type? ffprobe output? mpv log?
Any special non-default config options?
>>
Hello, MPC-HC user here, glad I found this thread as I was looking for a good alternative in Arch. I just installed MPV, and I was wondering if I can use the very good graphic config. I am using an i7 (2.7GHz) with 8 GB ram and a GTX660M. Obviously a laptop. Also where do I shove that config info?

It's not Windows specific, you can install wine and run mpv on Linux too.
>>
>>52120046
OP already left.
He's doing this every time. Posting this shitold copypasta and leaves.
>>
>>52119831
Idk, sounds like you could probbaly use the very good settings but afiak these are mostly placebo for chink cartoon watchers and offer nothing over standard opengl-hq for anything else.

Also it goes in .config/mpv/mpv.conf

>>52120097
I'm still here, this is the first thread I ever made about mpv since I just started using it. I used archive to get info to help people out.

You don't even need Wine, its meant for Linux...

I noticed that both mpv and SVP team does motion smoothing.

SVP does this by multiplying the frame rates to certain fps

how does mpv do this? and why do they look so different?

i have the same bug on windows and found it with git bisect in this commit https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/commit/5afa68835ade9f21f9c709f791319bf9d2e35265

ETA on the botnet update?

Never, but only because Plex are paying wm4 to develop a private closed copy for them and to slip in annoying bugs to the open version.

Where's the modest setting between "basic" and "high"?
>>
>>52121478
They use totally different algorithms.
SVP uses motion vectors and interpolates macro-block motion.

MPV and MADVR Interpolate the rendered images on a pixel-for-pixel basis. I.e. they blend consecutive frames with blend factor based on time.

Guys, newfag to Linux here. Are there any mpv-based players for Debian jessie? I just want a GUI to configure things.

I should probably work on that one again. It's sort of outdated, as still uses shaders for debanding and such was too busy and sort of forgot about it. While you can add deband as a custom one, it should be in the GUI instead.

I guess I can do that now that I'm free from doing anything else.

how do I get youtube to play an embedded MPV player *gasp* in windows?

this is how I see it:

basic= opengl
intermediate= opengl-hq
high = scale, cscale = ewa_lanczos (sharp, soft) + GLSL shader
very high = NNEDI3
>>
>>52121051
stop using a fuckawful meme browser
>>
>>52119130
I hate to defend MPC-HC, but when you say "all renderers," does that include madVR? mpv's opengl-hq applies a debanding filter by default, but I thought madVR did as well.
>>
>>52119448
>>52121844
That's interesting. Have you reported it on GitHub? Bisecting it to that specific commit should be helpful.
>>
>>52128825
OpenGL is as easy as you make it.
Your own matrix manipulation classes and normal calculating functions make it much more advance, yet usable.
>>
>backend=dxinterop
What is this exactly?
