How do I make my snowball sound better like all my favorite youtubers
>>
>>52107731
You sure they're using a snowball, and not a Yeti, or something better?

If they are, they're probably adjusting EQ's via digital audio cable software, doing it in post, or just using better mic ettiquette than you.
>>
I'm using an AT2020 XLR as my daily driver but I have a shitty behringer mixer that I seriously need to burn with fire. Gonna upgrade to an audio interface in the future.

What you gonna get m8?
>>
I'm using a sick setup consisting of a 5 dollar clip on microphone reinforced with a self build K'nex structure for desktop usability.

Bought this one for cheap a few years ago purely for recording a voice-over for a school project. The quality wasn't great but at least it beats the build-in microphone on my XPS15.

gotta be careful with those edges!
>>
>>52107669
Stupid question coming through... may not belong in /sqt/ or maybe so.

Anyways: If I purchased a microphone with a boom, what would prevent the speakers on my desk from spilling sound straight into the mic? Any preventative measures?

Also, pastebin for microphone generals?
>>
>>52107669
I have pic related (ModMic) with my Fidelio X2. What do you guys use to input your mic? Certainly not internal sound cards, do you?
>>
>>52111126
Why would you use the mod mic with the X2's when the V moda Boom pros exist?
>>
>>52110944
yeah... it's called headphones...
>>
>>52111205
Because the fucking V Moda Boom Pro shares the ground cable with both the mic and the headphones, making ground loop noise if you don't connect both mic and headphones to the same device, which you won't, because if you have decent headphones you're probably plugging them into a DAC and the mic to another device like a sound card or some other thing.

I spent 30€ on those fucking shits and then 50€ right away on the ModMic because the V moda is full of ground loop noise. How could they not see this fucking problem?
>>
>>52111323
I would just get a desk mic then. Fuck having two wires.
>>
>>52111210
Gay.
>>
>>52111126
I use a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 external sound card/interface.
>>
>>52112064
I have a mechanical keyboard. I need a directional mic next to my mouth.

I detach the mic 90% of the time anyway. I attach it to the magnet only when I need it.
>>
>>52112699
It wouldn't be quite as bad if you got a dynamic mic, but it'd still be there
