that's public fucking information

in 2012 the local democratic party looked up everyone's voting record and sent them passive aggressive postcards grading them on their voting record
>>
Thank god with american datacaps it's almost impossible to download and share that much data.

It's funny because it's true
>>
>>52105970
There's truth to it but sadly the data caps here in Murrica are soft caps. You can exceed them but they charge you like $10 for each additional 50GB
>>
>>52104805

Public information? Excellent.

You won't mind if I put together a map containing the addresses of everyone who voted for Obama in the last two elections, would you?

I mean, it only makes sense to know who your neighbors are.

>Registration records
Where does that imply any information on who someone voted for?
>>
>>52107650
It contained party affiliations for primaries as well, so it doesn't tell you exactly who voted for who, but it gives you a decent idea

It does actually contain voting history.

>millions of americans get blackmailed by Trump this election and Trump ends up blowing the earth up in an attempt to save USA from brown people
thanks NSA
>>
>>52105705
Those cards weren't accurate though, because they sent me one and congratulated me on voting in an election that occurred when I was 16.
>>
>>52105705
Shades of Germany and Sweden.
I'm sure it's only a matter of time until people start getting notes in their mailbox about being a "racist" and that their employment is at risk, for voting anyone other than the DNC.
>>
>>52104837
The odds of affecting anything are too low to be worth wasting time on voting, unless you're a NEET
>>
why is government IT always so shit?
>>
>Electronic voting

Oh shit nigger what are you doing
>>
>>52107927
Yeah, because it's Democrats trying to rig elections and control voters.

Look up redistricting and see who it's benefited more. Hint: not Democrats.
>>
>>52107990
Guess who passed a law in California saying anyone with a driver's license could vote in federal elections.
Guess who started handing out driver's licenses to illegals.
>>
>>52107983
Because it's contracted out to the lowest bid.
>>
>>52108062
Guess which two districts go redistricted in such a way that it forced one Democrat out of the district so a Republican could get in and then pitted that Democrat against another Democrat in an election?

That's the shit we're seeing nationwide. That happened in California. States are redistricting so that there are as few Democratic districts as possible.
>>
>>52107983
Must be a budget thing, the UK gov is dreadful also.
>>
>>52108128
You're pretending Democrats don't do the exact same thing when they win. A broken system is only inconvenient when you're on the receiving end, I guess.
Handing out driver's ID to illegals is worse than redistricting, anyway.
>>
>>52104805
Who cares? It's public data for one.

Employers can't legally use it against you.

And politicians already have access to this stuff and are neck deep in it already with keeping up with people.

The worse that can happen is some neckbeard tries to harass you and gets arrested for it.
>>
considering in my state I can request this information at any time, it really doesn't matter.
>tfw was treasurer for state candidate
>tfw got spreadsheet for small amount of money and could see who did and didn't vote in the elections for the past five years

now if it had voting history or something, it would definitely be something to worry about.

However, this also shows why you need to keep as much information to yourself as possible, as any database is just asking to be cracked wide open.
>>
So what? What the fuck can he do with that data? Blow up the white house? Drop a nuke on Russia? Start the zombie apocalypse? Threaten rich people by writing their relatives names on an a5 paper and shoving it under their door?
>>
>>52108151
I never understood Republican's issues with illegal immigrants.

Seriously, tell them a story that starts with someone in trouble. They need help. The government can't help though because of bureaucracy. So instead of wading through red tape, this person takes matters into their own hands and helps themselves while ignoring bureaucracy. Tell any story like that at a GOP convention and that person would get a standing ovation. Except for an illegal immigrant.

Because they vote Democrat.
>>
>>52108194
>now if it had voting history or something, it would definitely be something to worry about
This includes part affiliation. Not hard to guess a voting history from that.

>This guy is a life long Democrat
>He voted in the 2012 Presidential election
>I wonder who he voted for

>>
>>52108265
Wrong lense, you're looking at it from an individual instead of social level.

Republicans don't admit it to themselves [at least not until recently] but environments spawn ethnicities, which spawn cultures, which spawn societies.

As South America has proven ad nauseam, Hispanics are incline towards socialism. Whites, towards libertarian thought, classical liberalism, all the antique constitutional stuff of America is all based on old, white stuff.

Alter the demographics, and while individual people may choose freely, the net effect of the whole group will alter slightly. And since Republicans are already split with Dems, a slight tilt is all it takes to move from an even competition to a permanent growing disadvantage.

>>52108391
He's probably thinking of the populist faction of the Repubs, not the business-council faction.

Many ISPs do not use data caps. Time Warner, for example, does not, and is one of the big ones. I once lived in a place where only AT&T Uverse was available, but other than that I've never had a data cap on a residential connection. With Uverse it's 250 GB and then I think an extra $10 for every additional 250 GB. I broke it a few times.
