I want to get a cheap laptop for watching videos, doing school work and such. I was thinking of getting an Acer 13 Chromebook (Tegra K1, 4gb RAM).

Theyre actually pretty fast, theyre not exactly an i7 but they can perform pretty well.
I had the same Cerlon processor on another Windows 7 laptop that i have on my current chromebook, and i was able to use it to run AutoCAD, some other drafting programs, hotline miami, terraria, etc.

Can any recommend me a good Chromebook that'll withstand heavy use?
I've had pic related for a year but it started losing the wifi signal, and kept getting stuck in reboot cycles, making it unusable.

have you done the chrome recovery thing on it? it basically wipes the machine down to the bios and reinstalls chrome
as far as a new machine goes, acer. Theyre built so simply that there is very little chance of failure within them.
