I thought the idea of the 'bladeless fan' sounded neat, but holy fuck those things sound worse than normal fans. The small fans in the base are really loud and high pitched. Plus it doesn't move all that much air compared to normal fans. It was smooth feeling though, I'll give it that.
Hey guys I work for Dyson and completely agree with everything in this thread, it's pretty funny.
I had one of these things in my room for half the summer.
It looks cool and all, but if you want it to put through any somewhat decent amount of air it's going to get loud as shit.
Replaced it with a regular fan with proper spinning blades that moves five times the air at the same volume level.
I'm just waiting for dyson to make computer fans for apple now. It would be a perfect partnershit.
