Calculators are technology. What do you use /g/?

My ol' trusty fx-991 ES is still going strong. Yes, I fell into the solar panel meme.
>>
I have the same one you've got. Had it for about 9 years at this point. I don't see myself ever getting a new one, especially with wolfram, symbolab, mathematica close by.
>>
>>52083819
That calculator is literally one of the best scientific calculators I've ever used.

I've got a TI-84 Titanium, TI-89, and a Casio scientific calculator that is basically the new version of what you've got.

I use the casio prism. I have a 3rd party picture reader on it so I store notes and cheat for tests. The professors think Casio doesn't do anything....just the Texas instruments. So I highly recommend the prism.

I have that calculator. It has served me well for more than five years. It has been dunked in water. It has been in snow storms. It has been in my pocket for more time than nearly anything else over that time. I was holding it in my highschool graduation picture.

I love that calculator.

my university doesn't allow this particular calculator. It has too many functions.

Reminder that if your university allows you to use this calculator, it's a beta university that can't into math. Gtfo and study economics or some other beta shit.

fx-911es plus here. Can I join in?

Yup. Learn tons of neat stuff in there, I really liked that class.

Well, that was not exactly what I was going for, anon. But no, I did not.

Here is another picture.
>>
>>52083819
same, i love it

most folks nowadays have the "+" version, but imo it's far uglier than the regular 991. the only drawback i noticed is that the "+" has cyclic navigating with < and > buttons (get to the end, continue at the start) and equation solutions come in a tidy fraction format while the regular just gives a decimal number
>>
>hardly anyone is in the ti-82+ partrician race.
>>
>>52084878
>equation solutions come in a tidy fraction format while the regular just gives a decimal number

Doesn't the S<=>D do exactly that?

Mine is the regular one and uses fractions as default, there must be a way to configure that.
>>
>>52084920
it uses fractions as default for regular operations, but when you go through MODE->EQN->(number) the solution usually doesn't come in fractions and S<=>D does nothing
>>
>>52084919
I have one of the casio's here, but I also have a TI-84+. It is good, but I tend to carry the casio around with me everyday, and the TI-84+ I keep at home.
>>
>>52084957
and it's not that it's an irrational solution
>>
>>52084143
There very few comparable scientific calculator apps in the stores, emulators are shit when it comes to calculators. I really hope we can get a full graphing calculator, like the HP50 to run natively on smartphones without a shitty emulator.

Thank you. I always ave appreciated it.

I think I had that calculator, or one very similar to it, at my house when I was younger. My parents had a similar one for their work.

>>52086813
I am not sure what exactly the meme is. At least with my calculator, I have never really had issues with the power being low. Basically, I can open it anywhere, any time of day or night, and there it is--up and ready. I love it, as I said. I wrote a poem about this calculator once, and this thread makes me want to go hunting through my old cschool papers to find it. Sadly I am not at home and my papers are thousands of Km away.

But my calcualtor is here with me.
