you need a psu, a mobo, a cpu, some ram
look at the specs for all things to make sure they're compat
maybe a case and a hard drive if you're feeling fancy
god bless
Thank you for replying. Is there a minimum to the specs i shoukd aim for? Im going to be using it for work and of course gaming. Im not gonna be disecting frames or anything, but want the best got my money. Again, thanks, just want my bases covered.

What games do you play? Also what settings do you want to play them at?
Games i play are anything large and competive, good indie games, fighting games. Not anything crazy like csgo. As gor specs om out of luck. I've no clue, as i cant see the small details. I guess whatever you thinks best for the money.

what the fuck dont listen to him, this build is garbage and poster needs to end his life
>>52082504
Cheers. Is there a huge difference between the gtx 950 and the 960?
Always plan ahead. Before you dive into the build, think about the displays. What kind of monitor do you want, and how many?

>>52082504
Yeah, that build is atrocious and those prices don't seem right - at least outside of the US.

>>52082509
I would go for the 280x but still way better build than the other. Get this op
>>52082566
A friend of mine has two, but he just uses one for fb. Umless theres a huge plus to more than one monitor, ill stick with one. Can just buy onr later, right? Also, monitor just has to br good for its price and decent, not 4k ot anything.

What kind if performance would a rig like this have, if you could guess? Im going off complete faith here.
>>52082643
its rubbish
>>52082643
What are you even gonna use this computer for, it's pretty much impossible to tailor a build without any details.
>>52082666
Yeh, i know...im sorry im acting useless i just wanna get things rolling before i just give up all togeher. I wish i had specifics to give but im in the dark.
>>52082695
op just buy a prebuilt, you won't regret it...
>>52082703
I was going to but...this is something i WANT to do. I know i come off as a newb piece if retarded shit but tgats why i came here, to learn. I wont keep bothering, but if i get a good list of parts with a guide on how to build, i promise to stop being bugging on about "muh peesee"
>>52082735
ok 2 months ago I joined /g/ and had no idea how to build a computer, nor have any ideas about components, then a few days ago I built my computer. And I don't regret anything. Just look a review and guides on youtube and for certain components like the psu look at jonnyguru, compare gpu's on boss and look at real life testing results.

>Yeah, that build is atrocious
it's a great build.
>prices don't seem right - at least outside of the US.
Fuck off foreigner.
>>52082768

This is the best one I came with for your budget, if you can squeeze a little more in
>>52082888
Budgets not a problem man, as long as its relatively relaistic (under £900) im willing to go the extra mile

>i5

>not the definition of "decent"
Please die in a fire.
>>52082985
I'm not him but, saying something is decent is highly subective, is all comes down to how people think and what games they play
>>52082799
>it's a great build.
Not even him, but it's literally shit.
Might as well ask here since this thread is up
Was about to buy a $800 dollars laptop after my old one of 6 years finally broke but since I still had a vostro 5470 from work I decided I might as well buy my first PC.
I'm in NY until January 6 so I can take a day or two to go shopping it in person If have to and would have to order them soon if go shop online.
Anyways any good build with $800? I would use some engineering programs (CAD, solidworks) and some gaming would be good, nothing over 1080p though.
Also I have literally nothing (mouse, keyboard, monitors) so I can go over that budget if necessary.

Case and screen not included.

I'm on mobile, so I can't build you anything myself. Go on logicalincrements.com, plan for 150-200 bucks for peripherals.
