Daily reminder that you cannot disable telemetry on any version of Windows 10.
No, not even on Enterprise.

Simple, find out the process that does the telemetry and use software to prevent it from accessing the internet.
Or you could do the other option, use linux with wine installed

OP confirmed for being too stupid to operate a computer.

Telemetry is how microsoft gathers the data about you it sells to advertisers.

Disabling telemetry is basically like turning off microsoft's revenue.

That's piracy.

Is it true that in Windows 10 you can't disable the telemetry service in services.msc?
>>
>>52080579

>>
>>52080549
You are the product being sold.

You think microsoft aren't going to go into the highly lucrative data mining business? Microsoft has a platform where they literally control the operating systems of most personal computers and the opportunity to release a 'free' version of windows, collect your personal information and sell it is just too good to pass up.
If I was microsoft, I'd sell your personal data, because it's worth lots of money.

Get used to the idea that every thing you use is collecting your data and selling it.

In 5 years your response won't be "Stop being so paranoid" it will be "who cares".

This.

People are so damn naive. They think "surely MS can't be that evil".
They're not evil, they're just GREEDY.
And they do it because they CAN do it.
What will people do to protest? Switch to Linux? lol
Maybe 1% will, the other 99% will happily continue to serve them data, because "muh convenience" and "I'm not a terrorist anyway haha".

Linux is NOT a viable alternative and you need to stop lying to yourself it is. You gaylords have been promising, ironically or not, "a year of desktop linux" for as long as I can remember.
People don't switch not because they are consent with everything MS has to offer (see Windows 7 market share staying strong from the WIn8 release to the current date), but because Windows has no alternatives.

I will repeat: no GNU/Linux distro is a good desktop OS. Windows XP is. Modern Fedora, Ubuntu and Mint are not.
>>
>>52080909
GNU/Linux IS a viable alternative. Just tell me one thing you can do on Windows that you can't do on GNU/Linux.

>inb4 "muh games"
Grow the fuck up, manchild
>>
>>52080938
You're just going to say >inb4 every time I name a thing Linux can't do, aren't you?
>>
>>52080989
Nope. Just explain me what you can do on Windows that you can't on GNU/Linux, without mentioning gaymes.
>>
>>52081029
>without mentioning gaymes
Why not?
>>
>>52081042
Because videogames are not technology-related (more consumerism-related) and 4chan is not allowed to persons who aren't at least 18 years old.
>>
>>52081029
Have FF be able to display both .webms and youtube videos with HTML5 player at the same time instead of toggling wich one works on the configs.
Oh, and have certain players (like the one on bandcamp or soundcloud) work.
>>
>>52080938
not the other guy, but here's my list:
photoshop, exchange, active directory, visual studio, works flawless on a touchcreen, onenote, task scheduler that is not shit or requires knowledge of bare config files, no package dependency mismatches or need to compile stuff from source.
>>
>>52081140
I think your problem is between the chair and the screen
>>
>>52081181
oh, to add to that:
access, remote desktop.

VNC is okay, but boy does it look shit against RDP.
>>
>>52081223
I had to toggle media.fragmented-mp4.gmp.enabled between FALSE and TRUE every time.
>>
>>52081236
>>52081181

>Photoshop
Good point. GIMP, even if it's less good, can be used. Though, you can emulate Photoshop with Wine.

>Exchange
What is it ?

>Active directory
Samba, OpenLDA, NFS..

>Visual Studio
Emacs, vim with some plugins, Gedit, even Code::Blocks if you want something that looks like Visual Studio

>Touchscreen
Ubuntu Touch is nice.

>Onenote
I don't know what is it, so I'll say nothing about it

>task scheduler that is not shit or requires knowledge of bare config files
cron is quite easy to understand and use

>no package dependency mismatches or need to compile stuff from source
Then you need a rolling release, something like Arch
>>
>>52081105
We are not talking about technology here
We are talking about the fact that linux is not a viable alternative
and that linux is not supported by the majority of games and other software with a big marketshare is proving that point
you can't >inb4 in that discussion
that just shows how much of a fucking dumb retard you are that's shilling his free as in no one cares because that free beer tastes like warm piss and sausage water compared to the beer I have to pay for free
>>

I wish I could be in the same room with you so I can stab you in the throat. Not once or twice, but over and over again.
>>
>>52080938
I'll give you one: presenter view in Powerpoint.

No, LibreOffice does not cut it.
>>
>>52081708
Mad because he's right?

Oh yeah, I forgot. In MS shill speak it's not ads, it's "suggestions".
>>
>>52080469

No its not. Piracy has something to do with pillaging and booty.

It is. People love to shout botnet. Yet those people are posting that crap here using fucking Chrome or Chromium which has even worse data collection out of the box.
>>
>>52081716
Wait, so the one thing it can do that Linux can't is having a program made by the company you are claiming can do more?
>>

And you can run powerpoint on linux using Wine...
>>
I miss the days when operating systems were just operating systems.
>>
>>52088005
Yes, and presenter view doesn't work because Wine doesn't know what to do with multiple monitors. That's my point.
