I'm trusting you guys and changing from a lapfag to a deskfag, this build was within budget and I wont be gaymin more than tabletop sim. Did I get meme'd into something before I buy this?

That's pretty mediocre. Don't do a Seagate hdd and that ssd looks sketch as fuck. Also do 2x4, not just one 8 stick. And have some dignity by not buying fucking power color.
>>52073709
there's nothing wrong with seagate
>>52073741
Hard data says otherwise.
>>52073603
get a r9 370 or a gtx 950. Get 2x4gb ddr3 instead of one 8gb. Don't use transcent ssd's, they're literally housefires. Get a better case like the corsair 200r.

Besides, just soend like 5 dollars more on at Keats a WD Caviar Blue
>>52073752
the backblaze results are not accurate.
for all of the other brands, they used enterprise drives. instead of using seagate enterprise drives, they took apart shitty portable hard drives.

Cool
Now just work on the case

Gonna barge in on dis thread. Is this alright for a first build? My concerns are the motherboard being unnecessarily pricey, and overdoing it with the PSU. I have basically no experience with computers and this is what I was able to piece together as something that will last me a while. If anyone knows a good cheap monitor that would be much appreciated.

This is going to be my first build, this is what I've come up with for my budget (under $1400). Thoughts?
going to build a sub £500 server, how does this look?

How's this for a first build? Trying to keep it roughly <$1k
Any components with known failures i should switch out?
Any areas where I could skimp on and put the money towards another part?
