>literally mfw I tried using some pleb tier speakers recently after becoming an audiophile

It's amazing how people can listen to stuff that sounds like pure shit. What's the point of even listening to music if you're going to use shit to listen to it with?

Sometimes I think the only people who hate audiophiles are poorshits who can't afford to become one.
>>
>>52072022

I feel that way when i see people with basic earbuds.
>>
>>52072022
most people have things more important to do in their life than complain about speakers. I do hate it when someone plays music on their phone, cranks it up max volume, and thinks it's okay to listen to such distorted shit.

The first real audio equipment I ever owned was a pair of RE-400s. They sounded fucking amazing, but with their shit build quality they perished after just 2 weeks, and then they got lost in the mail when I sent them for replacement. Had to go back to using apple earpods for a few months, mother of god. I couldn't believe what I was hearing when I put those things back in after not using them for so long. Like, music literally did not sound like music when played through those. Just pure mud and boomy, unintelligible noise.

It was a dark time in my life.

>earbuds
How can even people use that shit? Why don't they just buy a pair of good headphones? There are pretty good ones that are not that expensive and they pretty much never break.
>they buy beats
>>
>>52074165
earbuds are much smaller and much more comfortable

some people dont care too much about audio quality, plain and simple
>>
>>52074192
>earbuds are much more comfortable
I don't think so. My headphones are way more comfortable than any earbuds I've ever used.
>>
>>52074165
Personally, I use IEMs when I'm going out.
Using full blown headphones outdoors often makes you look like a huge autist.

The only ones that don't seem to make you look stupid outdoors are the shitty ones with a small profile, because then it looks like you're just listening to an e-book.

And then there are beats and cat ear headphones but those are for niggers and hipster-weebs.
>>
>>52072022
I own 1k iems/headphines and I blast music out of my phone all the time because it's convenient. I also watch movies out of my phone yet I have a perfectly calibrated ips monitor and a 2k projector in a sound treated room.

At some point you just stop caring and want to go back to actually consuming the content.

The best part about owning expensive shit is showing it off, not actually using it.
>>
>>52074230
>Using full blown headphones outdoors often makes you look like a huge autist.
That's definetely true though. I never listen to music when I'm going out anyway though so I don't really give a shit. But I always use headphones when I'm in a train.
>>
>>52074241
Why would you do something as uncomfortable as watching a movie on a shitty phone screen if you already have everything set up?

>What's the point of even listening to music if you're going to use shit to listen to it with?
Most people don't know what it is supposed to sound like. They don't understand that there is a difference to speakers other than the amount of volume they can output.

This is mostly exacerbated by promotion of the output power. You always hear of speakers advertised by how many watts they are and it means nothing.

But there is still a limit. The majority of expensive speakers/headphones only sound noticeably better in controlled conditions. There's no point wearing HD800s on the bus.

You can get some good headphones/IEMs for $50-100 that you can wear anywhere and are noticeably better than shitphones and that's all normies really need to get.
>>
Because the problem is you become the same bitter fuck unwilling to be happy.

I am advocating you take the place of every shitty prime time TV story "genius" who makes himself stupid to be happy? no. am I saying that only stupid people can be happy? no.

You should try to enjoy the music with your overpriced equipment the best you can. If you can't get it in the quality you want, listen to it anyway, get the fuck over it, and move on. Don't make it your monthly project to find it in the quality because you won't give a fuck about the music when you finally get your hands on it.

I did this same shit when I got 3 monitors... there is always gonna be some game that doesn't support it even with hacks or what have you. Some brand new "AAA" games don't support it, some 20 year old ones do. I was in a period where I made such a huge deal about how I couldn't play my game with 3 monitors, I wouldn't play it, and suffer. Then I got the fuck over it and now do spend a little time to try to get a new game that won't immediately work but if not, I get the fuck over it and enjoy it. GET THE FUCK OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!
>>
>>52075668
Are you feeling okay?
>>
>>52075412
Fukushima released ionizing radiation. That causes cancer.

Cellphones release non-ionizing radiation. That doesn't cause cancer.

There is some debate that cancers can be triggered/caused by heating cells, ie by microwaves, but it isn't proven that cellphone microwaves can actually cause it.
After all, the entirety of your body heats up when you have a fever and you don't get cancer, and cellphones can't be heating cells more than a few fractions of a degree or else it would be apparent to the user.
>>
How can the average audiophile "expert" be a judge of sound when their hearing deteriorates more and more as years pass, like that grandpa faggot in OPs pic?
Isn't it contradictory to state that you are improving your hearing "tastes"/"standards" through the years while your hearing is at the same time naturally deteriorating?

Basically, what the fuck is up with the audiophile paradox?
>>

I like you... Whats important to one person isn't always universally important to others. Just like I don't give a fuck about cars but love motorcycles.

While I do agree with OP that there is a difference in sound when listening to music through your crappy laptop speakers vs. a decent stereo (not talking placebo hi-fi bullshit like silver wires for digital transport) but even a midrange set of 2.1 speakers would sound so much better than shit speakers that have a narrow sound range.

But yeah, making it a point for perceived superiority amongst others is an exercise in vanity, ignorance and insecurity. OP is thus a raging loser fag.

Headphones are analog, the quality of the driver and the cable will affect what you hear.
HDMI cables are digital, the quality of the data transferred will be protected by the error control.

In-ears, and this is something that I've been acutely aware of for some time. The fact is that most in-ears are a few rounds of EQ away from sounding excellent, but you need a good parametric to make these level of adjustments.

>>
>>52083655
Earbuds aren't in-ears.
That you damaged your own ears is a lack of self control, and not that sounds close to the ear is inherently more damaging.
>>
>>52083655
>>52083695
This. There's nothing inherently wrong with in-ear monitors.
The volume problem is related to the fact that cheap buds simply don't reproduce much sound at all, and you need to turn them up louder just to tell sounds apart, although it all ends up blending into a homogenous wall of sound no matter how much you do so.
If your phones are good enough to produce clear and deep sound at comfortable SPLs, then you won't feel the need to hear more than what you're already getting.
>>
>>52083581
the asgard v1 only kills headphones if you leave them plugged in when you turn them off.

always unplug audio equipment before turning amps on or off, this goes for guitars headphones etc.

also the asgard sounds amazing, best amp I've heard.

most people use small radios or earbuds to listen to music and obtain perhaps 75 percent of the signal and the bandwidth with distortion, but that's usually enough to get the point across and engage the listener

i find that when i play music through my "quality" system, the output is so distracting I have to stop and lay there and listen to the music
>>
>>52074165
there are good earbuds, i always carry with me my pair of AKG K321 (i had to rebuy them with low budget, previously i had the Q350, way better), they sound good, loud and with a quite good dynamic range. at home sometimes i use a pair of px360, yes they're better to hear, yes they're more precise, no, they're not worth to be carried around and they don't have enough isolation compared to a simple pair of in-ear
