Normalfag web browsing machine. Is the HP stream 11 the only good choice?
HP Stream. Not enough RAM. Storage is not upgradable. CPU an Atom based Celeron....

Early Broadwell Atom laptops are bad. They are locked to a 32-bit OS and it's really difficult to install Linux on them, though Windows runs fine for web browsing.
I'd suggest looking at later 64-bit Broadwell Atom laptops if you want a newer one with good battery life, otherwise you could buy a used Thinkpad which could handle web browsing and much much more.
Chromebooks could be had for $50 on Black Friday so ur a lil late bro

Cherry Trail has Broadwell based graphics, but the CPU portion is still an Atom derivative. Bay Trail used Ivy Bridge based graphics, but again, Atom CPU cores.

Op go for a nice dell latitude. I just bought my parents a couple of e6320 for $165 each. You can find great i5 latitudes cheap. Don't make the mistake I did however, some laptop i5 are dual core, I thought they were all quad.

I'm busy looking for a decent 11/12 inch netbook that I can use when I'm travelling around. Tablets are not very useful to me as I would still like to do some dev work and maintain our company's git repo etc.

I've just come across a lot of chromebooks and possibly some stuff from Asus.
